I wonder how Schweimzweogen or whatever the (frank) his name is would react to being kicked in the shin by a lion, as opposed to a human...

Me.. I'm so sick of them trying to shove it down our throats every minute of every day. And It sucks, I get news text alerts from ESPN, and they've been giving me updates of everything that's happening, as if I was enrolled in the soccer updates. I don't care a game went to overtime 0-0... I don't care Zimbozewee scored the overtime goal... I don't care China is playing Jabip in the 16th round.

Sorry, I'm just not a fan of soccer. Too slow for me, and too uneventful... I'm so glad it's over.

The larger issue with ESPN is that they are overloaded with "Hot Takes" and jamming stuff down your throat in general. LeBron. The World Cup. Tebow. Skip Bayless. It's why I don't watch ESPN much. I watch Fox Sports 1 when I need sportscenter style news or use the net for the rest.

Exactly... when the whole Michael Sam thing was going on, they were giving a stinking play by play of everything. "Michael Sam says blah blah blah."... Michael Sam thinks blah blah"...

He was selected in the 7th round... seriously.. who cares. I should have just deleted my text notifications then... But now I'm really going to. Especially since I have the Flyers mobile app now!

ESPN should only be consumed in very small doses.

And even then, you should only watch when they are airing an actual sporting event.

I like World Cup and followed the hell out of it. It was interesting spectacle and something to watch until NFL Camps start up.

After all, the Phillies are doing their best to put us all to sleep this summer.

Yeah, the Sam thing was overblown, too. I get that to a point, because he's breaking a barrier, but holy cow did they devote way too much time to it.

Flyers passed over Bjorkstrand, a teammate of current Flyer prospect Taylor Leier, to grab Zac Rinaldo 2.0 in the 3rd round of the 2013 NHL draft. 50 goals in 69 games in the WHL and leads the league in playoff scoring.

I don't like playing the game "so and so was picked before so and so." Never know how these guys pan out. Still don't like the ghoulbourne pick that high though...

That pick was beyond awful. Several people here brought up that specific player on draft day.

Hopefully the Flyers Organization can recover from that at some point. You can do the same with every team. And look back and see where a team passed up a better player. And we also don't know what that player is going to be, or how successful Bjorkstrand is going to be.

I'd be really curious to hear how they justified that Z2 was the BPA at that pick internally... and who was there pushing for him.

Given the players on the board, Ghoulbourne was definitely a questionable pick at the time. I was one of a few guys that liked Bjorkstrand then, along with others on the board at the time.

Sure he might not pan out, but he's got a lot of good qualities and has displayed a high skill level while being one of the best players on a championship caliber team.

I just really doubt anyone had him anywhere near as high as the Flyers. This is a kid who has good attributes-good skater, solid defensively, great pound for pound fighter-but who also didn't produce much and had been passed over in the previous year's draft.

Much rather roll the dice on skill & production in the third round of a pretty deep draft class
