I was just there this past week as my family lives there. So I am actually a Tampa fan.

The actual city is horrible, but St. Pete's (Treasure Island beach) and Disney world close by are good.

Tampa has Toronto beaten in the weather category, but that's it.

In what world is Stralman better than Dion? That's ridiculous. Stralman would be crushed if he had to have Dion's role.
- RogerRoeper

dion sucks. he is a turnover machine, and a liability. id rather have eric (frank)ing brewer

Not really stamkos will resign here July 2015! If the leafs want him they will need to trade for him and good luck.
- todd1a

This blog should have been posted a year from now if Stamkos is still unsigned. Then we could get a real debate going lol

It is up to Stamkos.

If he wants to come to Toronto (and we really can't assume this), he will go to UFA rather than make the team he is going to dismantle its future in a blockbuster trade.

Haha you never know. He has said it would be a dream come true playing for the Leafs and now him favouriting the tweet. It's something to think about.

Depends.

I can barely deal with anything greater than 25 C/77 F, so I'll take Toronto

Why are his numbers so good over the past decade then?

Stralman isn't close to Dion.

THe "Turnover Machine" is stupid. Dude played well defensively last season. And he faces the toughest minutes in the entire NHL.

Not me. The Lightning survived before him and can survive without him. He is not this team but part of it (albeit a big part).

As for Toronto, they have a good (not great) prospect pool, but you're kidding yourself if you think for one second it's better then TBay's.

- Artyukhin76

I never said anything about that. I know yours is better but I also dont think that its far and away better. Leafs prospects and players are always unvalued because were the leafs.

Tampa isn't in the same universe as Toronto as a city.

Downtown is not great, but Hyde Park, Clearwater and Tarpon Springs are nice too.

Players in markets like Tampa face no pressure, no criticism. Rick Nash somehow was a "Franchise Player" for 10 years in Columbus and they never won a single playoff game with him.

Unless his name is literal and he provides beer, this is a crazy statement.

He played on a team with flawed systems last year, but still has better GA/60 than guys like Keith, Karlsson, Weber, Subban. He's far from perfect, but Brewer would get absolutely murdered if put in the same situations as Dion.

They have a good zoo that is the perfect size for a day trip and I love Busch Gardens in March break where we didn't even have to wait for 2 hours for each ride (unlike Canada's Wonderland, which is a sh1t hole).
