We are headed for another lockout if cap keeps increasing.
- Danformo

Or the league can contract and dump cities that shouldn't have NHL franchises...one of the two might be a good idea.

We're headed for contraction if it doesn't keep going up.

i am pretty sure this is psychology 101, wtf is psychology 10? if you're gonna try and insult me at least use proper terminology.

isn't there anyone knowledgeable here that i can have a decent conversation with? it's getting tiring to continuously pour out facts while all the trolls on this site just insult me with personal attacks.

- sensnucksnocups

No he means psychology 10. You see, in Alberta, psych is an optional course offered in grade 10 (10),11(20) or 12 (30).
So basically, the psychology he speaks of is taught to 15 year olds, the terminology is correct, you are simply just unaware of this, much like most things in life, hockey and otherwise I am sure.

You think you're pretty funny but you're not. Leafs fans do the exact same thing.

And most Canuck fans at the beginning over valued what they could get for Lou but as time went on they came down to more realistic expectations.

I've seen you and other Leafs fans make up utterly ridiculous trades for your own players. So maybe you should keep yourself and other Leafs fans in check before spewing more nonsense.

- Iggysbff

Thank God we have never seen Oiler fans overvaluing players or coming up with ridiculous trade ideas.

Stop trolling Leafs threads just about every day and maybe you would realize that fans of ALL teams are ridiculous.

Why are you Vancouver folks suck ass holes to everyone else in the league? You remind me of oscar the grouch.

You guys are such an angry bunch....personally I find it amusing but I'm sick in the head.

The Hawks are going to need quite a few players on ELCs soon
- braidan

Or go picking at the bottom of the barrel come FA time as the leftovers have become a chance to hit a homerun with buyouts, cap issues, etc.

It's mid-july and still some very solid players out there. I see that trend continuing.

Seems a bit odd to me. Having the chance to sign with arguably one of the best clubs in the NHL and get the opportunity to play with some of the leagues top players.

If Kane or Toews would have made it to free agency they would have gotten a lot more money than 10.5 per year. The Oil would have probably paid them 12-15 million per year as would most of the teams in the league. When a team has 2 superstars that have delivered multiple cups and are just entering their prime it is a no brainer. The deals that don't make sense are the ones for aging stars that are past their prime and are given money and term based on their history , usually that they accomplished with a different team.

Nothing to see here people.

1) Hayes and his agent know his value is higher now due to Hobey Baker Hype and Gadreau. They see a lineup he can't crack and they want him in the NHL now. 22 years old and doesn't want 3 years in the AHL like Jimmy.

2) This has nothing to do with Chicago cap issues. If the Hawks recognized Hayes as a top 6 power forward talent he would be signed.

3) Hawks are one trade of a Sharp contract away from cap flexibility.

FInally, Hayes is probably not a top 6 talent. He projects a little better than brother Jimmy. Watch the tape from the ICHF WC . They were on the same line. Yawn.

Your jealousy is starting to stain your avatar.

I can see your interest here though. Hayes, not a top 6 talent, is already better than Kassian.

It will be interesting to compare the success of these contracts to that of the Penguin's big 2. I don't think they have done a damn thing in the playoffs since those monster contracts were signed.
