That's what annoys me. If you love soccer, good for you. But these lame bandwagon jumpers who become "Fans" for 2 weeks every 4 years are terrible.
- RogerRoeper

I don't mind the bandwagoners as I love the sport. I just dislike when they start analyzing and trying to act like they know what they are talking about.

Best case scenario is 2nd rounder and worst case is 3rd rounder.

My 5 Top reasons why the Leafs might have a chance at the playoffs:

1. Bernier
2. Bernier
3. Kessel
4. JVR
5. No Reimer

They were in a playoff spot with less than 10 games left. This talk they have no chance is silly, You can't judge the team on the final 3 weeks.

And yeah, Bernier getting a .923 save% on THAT team was indeed very impressive. Not getting quite the credit he deserves. Him alone gives them a shot.

I think you'll see a completely different team from last season, for better or for worse. They were such a fun team to watch two years ago and played effective hockey. They played like poop last season and paid for it.

The competition in the east is pretty weak, and the only real locks to make it are Boston and Pittsburgh. Both the Habs and the Rangers could miss the post season and it would not shock me.

Yup. And both Boston and Pittsburgh have gotten worse. You're right, the Rangers made the finals and are no lock to make the playoffs.

In reality it's more like:

1. Bernier
2. Kessel
3. Rielly
4. Komarov
5. Clarkson

Leafs success depends on how well they play. Coaching shakeup I'm sure will make a huge difference too.

I think you still have to judge them including the last 10 games. Shows they are inconsistent. They can't hope Bernier bails them out all year, he will be burnt out after 3 years.

But ya, if they played in the West they would have no chance. Luckily the East is just awful. So to say there is no chance is wrong.

Their biggest problem is not firing the coach. I know they're thinking ahead, and want to drive a dump truck full of $ to Babcock's house next year, but Carlyle is terrible.

Leafs won't be any better this year if they don't improve their possession game.
- ClarksonDavid

Exactly, I wouldn't bank on excellent goal tending all year either. They need to allow less shots

Isn't komarov a 3/4 liner at best?

True.. But firing your coach every 2-3 years looks bad lol.. I'm sure he'll (RC) be the scapegoat if they are off to a slow start. But they'll probably come out firin on all cylinders and taper off and miss the playoffs.. Only to fire Randy too late into the season to save it.

The Leafs have many holes but I agree is terrible. He is the reason they lost to Boston he told them to try to shut them down. Boston was tired and if they kept skating the comeback was impossible. But saying that, they should also be able to hold a 3 goal lead for 10 minutes.

I just think Randy is too old school. Hockey has changed dramatically in even 3 years.

Your right. You have Boston and Pitts as locks. Buffalo, Ottawa, Florida, Carolina's chances are really low and I would bet a lot of money they will all miss the playoffs.

Yeah.. But he's crucial.. He draws so many penalties and keeps the other teams focus on him. The team absolutely loves the guy. He keeps their spirits up. He does have cement hands tho..
