I would like to see everything "soccer" go away for awhile.. Everyone becomes this lame bandwagon fan during the WC.. I tried watching a few matches and it seemed obvious the refs were controlling the outcome. There's absolutely zero integrity left in that sport. Which is a shame because there are some highly skilled players out there.

That's unfair. There are a few socceroos on this board who chat footy year round.

to be fair to RC when the Leafs started out 6-1 he said the team had serious problems that they needed to correct
- PinkSock

But they never did correct them.

That's what annoys me. If you love soccer, good for you. But these lame bandwagon jumpers who become "Fans" for 2 weeks every 4 years are terrible.

Unfortunately this is true. But I think his main gripe is the other 99.99% of these hardcore fans that come around once every 2-4 years. I've worked with a guy for 8 years. It wasn't until June that I found out he was "German". I'm watching 20 year old kids walking around with German flags, clearly not immigrants.

Only thing worse than the bandwagon fans are the people who whine about bandwagon fans. People like soccer. Some are casual fans. Get the (frank) over it.

At least those fans are actual fans.. And the games happen before I get out of bed so it's a non-factor.

Messi is and always has been a class act. Germany are going to triple team him, but Argentina should do well to pay attention to what France did against Germany. They played balls deep, over the defence and often beat them down the wings with speed. Germany can be beaten - the game versus Brazil was a complete mental meltdown by the host nation.
- fifty__missions

Oh, I'm sure they can be beaten. Argentina is primed to win right now. Let them triple team Messi so they can be exposed by Aguero or Higuain. Also this is the strongest Argentine defense in decades, should make for an excellent final.

I agree. The back four have been pretty solid, and Mascherano was man of the match last game. He is clearly the team leader.

New coaches, better bottom 6, better D-men in Polak and Robidas.

Could we recoup a 2nd round pick for Franson?
- Popcorn Kid

Best case scenario is 2nd rounder and worst case is 3rd rounder.
