there abouts, Id have to agree, just based on the deal that was nixed
- PinkSock

i was surprised when Gorges went for a second. didn't think Montreal would get that much for him. especially a Buffalo second rounder. that could be a good pick.

Play Polak or Granberg with Rielly and get rid of Ranger and I'm down with that.

Ya same here, good deal for the habs, clear cap space and basically a 1st rounder

Shut up doublepuke. Your hatred for the Leafs has blinded you to the point of irrational insensibility.

Pretty much, only thing I could think of is another defenceman and they change the line up for D

only thing is it's a 2016 second, which is a bit less valuable than the 2015 second.

Yes they do.
- jake24242

they don't have their 2nd round pick for 2015.
unless they're going to give four 1st, then no way you sign the player.

No market out there for him, I think he stays. Only destination I could think of with him is Winnipeg.
- peddy-93

I am ok with him, staying or going.. Really should not matter. I hope if they give him 3.5 we walk.. but they will never do that. Too much for a back up tender either way...

im not keen on it, but id move gardiner for oreilly.
problem then is, we will resign franson for 3.5 mil +.

which makes me cringe.

- big_dion

i'll shoot him, i dont care.. i'll do the damn time

Of course, plus at that salary range it'd likely be into the four 1st rd pick region... which is a big no no!

Buffalo will probably flip him for a higher pick before the deadline

possible but Gorges has 4 years left on his deal. makes him a less attractive deadline option.

I rather have Leivo take the spot. Try a player from within for a change.

- jake24242

Yup, and problem is we have to resign Bernier next summer to. Could see him getting Schneider money.

No, The guys making the decisions watch the games.

They know that when a tender plays 4 games poorly, then gets a shutout, to end up with respectable numbers. It means very little.

what weakens' Franson's value is his contract situation.

That wasn't at all what that post was for of course they would match it. He said we cant offer sheet because we have no 2nd round pick. My point was it doesn't matter cause the offer sheet would be over 6 mil and would be all first rounders no 2nd needed.

ROR has been in this situation, since he came into the league. He will always be looking for money. He is that guy.

ROR is under team control for a few more years though no? but yeah who knows what the deal with this kid is. he should have been signed to a long term deal a while back.
