I agree, it's not a good thing to NOT use corsi, but its not a good thing when that's all you look at.

You know what is the most embarrassing thing about the amount of Leaf fans that still whine about Grabbo?

That not one single Habs fan, despite that team not having an abundance of centremen either, ever expresses even the smallest hint of regret at trading him away.

I remember a game against he Hurricanes in which that (frank)er called something like 12 or 14 minor penalties against the Habs and 1 against the Canes.

Those hurricanes were a disciplined bunch!

I enjoy zeroing in some players and watch how they play, that is the beauty of watching the games.
- LeafMan

since reading as much as I can about stats over the past 12-16 months.. the games I watch are much different. I see a lot of things I never paid attention to before.

thats the beauty of combining watching with the stats

its a shame he was our shutdown line C and we made the playoffs

i hated taking boston to game 7.

- big_dion

Grabo's been in the NHL 8 seasons
1 season he's played in the playoffs.

Yea, he's clearly the reason they made it.

I remember that game, I think it was Kiovu that was high sticked and bleeding right in front of him.

He was really bad at shutting people down.

I'm pro Grabo too, it's just he was out of his element there.

It's already been established that it was Komarov that was responsible for that miracle of a season.

I like him too....

But he was bad that season, regardless of what the stats say.

He lost the offensive role to Kadri, and was pretty bad defensively.

You're correct.

The only time he was able to make the playoffs was when he played with Komarov.

of course he was bad at shutting down, the guy is an offensively gifted forward.

would you put crosby on a line with kulemin and frattin at 11 mins a night and expect him to produce 70 points?

lets be serious here.

ah yes the savior komarov who played 6 mins a game - that must be it.

yet its ok to pay komarov 3 mil for his 15 points, but not grabo for his 50+

Frattin played with Kadri, and looked awesome there.

Grabo had a shot at an offensive role that season, and lost it.

Because he wasn't playing well.
