I like the positivity and the spin, but realistically, there's no possible way to feel better about that deal. No possible way whatsoever.

You couldn't be more wrong. As an NHL fan, it IS your money. If you go to games, buy NHL products or even just being a regular patron that watches on TV, it IS your money they're spending!!! Fans like you that just don't care how much money these teams/owners throw around like it's play money are the reason why those same teams/owners are willing to continually over pay for mediocrity.

Orpik is a 3rd pairing d-man at this point. Phaneuf is a good number 2 (playing on the top pair) imo. Phaneuf as number one exposes him some, but let's remember how poor the rest of that D is defensively. It sure doesn't help how Phaneuf looked. 7mil is a bit high for Phaneuf, but I would much much much rather have him at 7 than Orpik at 5.5

don't count on it. There isn't going to be any significant trade happening anytime soon. Maybe to bring in a depth guy for San Antonio, that's what Tallon likes to do.

You've stated this 500 times. And I know. And by price, I meant what Buffalo wants for him. It would cost us a Trocheck. And Myers is NOT worth that. How many times did Boyes burn him last season? He is more of a project than any kid we have on our roster. Pass.
