Reimer might be worth a 2nd...

I think Lack Shinkaruk and a first would land you E. Kane

We're obviously not privy to how Markstrom has been progressing this offseason with Melanson but there's no denying this guy had some serious pedigree just a few years ago. If Rollie believes the kid can turn the corner he might be the one worth holding on to.

One thing for sure, one goalie will definitely be the odd man out this year so I don't think we've seen the last of Trader Benning this summer.

Two goalies actually. I read that Ericsson has an out clause that allows him to return to Europe if he doesn't make the NHL this season.

If you were Winnipeg would you do Reimer, Nylander, and a first? That is I think an equivalent(ish) package. If your answer is no then the package you outlined won't cut it. I think both of those players have more value to us than to other teams

I think Lack is a better goalie. IF the leafs had Lack instead of Reimer yes I would do that deal for a guy that doesn't want to be there

Smart man to get that in his contract.

Quite a bit of organizational depth at G we've got going on. In no specific order:

Miller
Lack
Markstrom
Ericsson
Cannatta
Demko

Lack is debatably a better goalie but Nylander is a superior prospect. If that's the case then you're probably pretty close to a starting point for both teams. I think from the Canucks perspective Lack is now somewhat expendable, Shinkaruk is essentially replaced by Kane, and the 1st is collateral damage. Personally not that interested but that is not a bad trade for us

I doubt it. The goalie market sucks, only a sucker would give a 2nd for Reimer or Lack IMO.

I was thinking a mid to late 2nd for Reimer and a 3rd for Lack. Reimer might only get a 3rd though.

Markstrom probably knows he doesn't have to ask for a trade. I'd be absolutely shocked if he hasn't let management know that he'd be open to a trade if he isn't going to be in the NHL with Vancouver this year.

I dont agree with him not having to ask for a trade. All of our GT's here have had to do otherwise to get the ice time they need. New GM sure but is a GT going to assume they have the best choice for his career as a priority when there are 2 GT's ahead of him and he's on a team in the proverbial goalie graveyard??

What ever language is being used, Im confident that he wants out if Lack stays
