So Botch was basically full of sh*t.....guarantee you guys that he tried doing the simple math and played the odds to make it seem like he had a source on this one.....

@News1130Sports

Just talked with #Canucks goalie Jacob Markstrom who says, "I did not ask for a trade after the Ryan Miller signing".

Markstrom says "I could have stopped training, complained and asked for trade after Miller signing but I see this as a challenge".

Markstrom - "I can't let Miller signing effect me, NHL is tough league, you have to outplay goalies to earn your job."

Markstrom - "I'm super excited to come to camp, been working real hard this summer."

Short memory Nucker? Botchford made up the same lies about Kesler.

He said the same thing about Kesler. Kesler denied and people on here made similar accusations on Botchford. So why is Kesler gone then?

Wait and see.

Markstrom could still get traded, but it could be simple because Benning would rather get something for him rather than waive him, not because he demanded a trade.

Benning sure sounds like its being discussed with Markstrom. Maybe Markstrom hasnt asked for a trade.... but they are talking about it.

Does anyone really care if he asked for a trade or not? If he gets traded or not? Miller is in the way for three more years, no need to worry about Markstrom or Lack or Ericsson or Canatta

It's just the back and forth banter that makes me laugh. Everyone on both sides is full of sh!t and we eat it up because we're bored

And therein lies the beauty of these calculated sh!it flings - if the reporter is half clued in the writing on the wall is fairly evident and they leap to connect the dots and call it a rumor.

It's tough to ever prove these guys wrong unless teams start filing liable lawsuits the way actors do. Can't see this happening.

Goalies don't have the best value, the Leafs are also trying to move Reimer. A team like the Jets can basically just go to both teams and say the cheapest asking price wins.

I'd rather keep Lack in that case.

We're obviously not privy to how Markstrom has been progressing this offseason with Melanson but there's no denying this guy had some serious pedigree just a few years ago. If Rollie believes the kid can turn the corner he might be the one worth holding on to.

One thing for sure, one goalie will definitely be the odd man out this year so I don't think we've seen the last of Trader Benning this summer.

With a guy like Kesler it's all about his image. He's probably saying, no I didn't "demand" a trade, knowing full well that he "requested" a trade. Or no, I didn't "ask" for a trade, I told them that if they wanted to trade me I'd be ok with going to the Ducks or Blackhawks, but either way I wasn't coming to training camp in Vancouver...

Semantics.

I think we'd be lucky to get a 3rd rd pick for either Lack or Markstrom.

Markstrom probably knows he doesn't have to ask for a trade. I'd be absolutely shocked if he hasn't let management know that he'd be open to a trade if he isn't going to be in the NHL with Vancouver this year.

Lebron is going home to try and bring a championship to the place he grew up and loved. If Hockey players would only do the same.

Buffalo would be stacked , no one wants to play on the Leafs

I doubt it. The goalie market sucks, only a sucker would give a 2nd for Reimer or Lack IMO.
