Why not play to our strengths? If they can get to a shoot-out they have a better chance of winning.. And how can you not like shootouts? I know a lot of people don't but they are just being cynical.. IMO

I think that season when the leafs couldn't win a shootout to save their lives was what soured me on them.

Plus they are such a crap shoot. I miss OT and ties, I was fine with that

Every time they change the rules they think they're fixing the problem but if they were really fixing the problem, they wouldn't have needed to change the rules a bunch of times.

First it was 5 minutes 5 on 5 OT. Then it became 5 minutes 4 on 4 OT. Then it became 5 minutes 4 on 4 OT with a shootout. Now it's 3 minutes 4 on 4, 4 minutes 3 on 3 and a shootout. What comes after 10 minute 3 on 3 when coaches figure out how to defend that? 5 minutes 2 on 2? 1 on 1? It's a circus.
