You may or may not be able to fix hips, knees and ankles....but you can't do anything about stupid. There's no cure for that. That's why I didn't like him....skates into the corner and passes the puck to Brian Leetch at the point, so he can shoot it in the open net. Wait....if I'm the third defenseman....who's playing goal?....DOH!!!!!! Just a complete and utter moron. Thank God that's in the rear view mirror....

Had the NHL not changed the rules behind the goal line, the NHL right now would be filled with "Third Defensemen" .

Not stupid ones. If they were all dumb as rocks, like that one, then the AHL would be filled with them, not the NHL.

Yeah, that was especially evident in the game they played against Germany.

How so?
If the NHL had never changed the rules, to stop Goalies from in essence becoming a third D-men, you don't think more goalies would have evolved into great stickhandling goalies?

Isles had a piece on their website about an 18 y.o Japanese Hockey player. I think the Isles are going to sign him eventually to see what he can do in the AHL.

Otherwise I don't know why they'd write about him.

Because its good for the growth of hockey to have potential players from non traditional NHL markets, None Hockey markets for that matter.
This is another one of those factors as to why the NHL LOVES crazy Wang, his growing of the sport in Shanghai and other arenas of China opens up the sport to over a billion new potential fans. If Wang's growing of the sport over there opens the door to even 1% of the population, that's huge for the NHL & the sport.

It'd be nice if he put more effort into growing his own market so we could maybe outnumber other teams' fans in our building for a change!

Maybe....but not the one we were talking about. Brodeur also went off into the corner, to get a puck when the other players on the ice were 75 feet away from him, to try and catch the opponent on a bad change. The goaltender in question went into the corner to try and send the puck down the ice when there were 10 skaters in his defensive zone, because he has less intelligence than the average bear. Could you imagine having had that back there, with the way they played defense last year? They would have set records for goals against in a season.

On the other hand, Grabner would have probably loved playing with DP before the injuries...

Hockey has a foothold already in the major cities of China/Hong Kong/ S. Korea & Japan. University teams not just intermural. there's even evidence that Gengis Kahn's armies invented a fundamental version of hockey as a way to pass time when they were training for battle on the glacial plains of mongolia.

Holy crap, Canada dont get ur knickers in a twist. Its a fact tho. Documented in the book/documentary The Hockey Nomad.

It's still good of Wang to do, though when u hear stories of the Isles being thrifty, it does kind of contradict. This team needs the help more than Asia needs hockey.

it has a presence... not a foothold, any promotion of the sport over there is huge for the NHL & Wang promotes the sh!t out of it over there.

True, but the successfully ones would have chosen their spots better. DP was always leaving the net at inappropriate times.

Hockey is over, the draft is over, the exciting free agents are all gone, the World Cup has ended and the next two months are going to be terribly boring for the world of sports.

Baseball...bleh.

The problem with summer sports.... baseball, NASCAR, etc...is that I have what they now call ADHD (my parents called it "sit down and shut up"), and with the exception of playoff hockey, I would have to be strapped in a straitjacket to sit in front of the TV for 6 hours at a time. Thank God for Rugby, and Aussie football..
