And. Either one of those proposals gets you laughed at.

I am all for a trade but people don't seem to notice to get a legit top defenseman these teams are asking for the world. It is the going price now a days |

Nor should he. We still have seen what the kid can do. I give him some time to show what he got - kasperrko
I thought after the break last year he was a different player. I think he finished with 16 points in the his last 22 games or something like that. Kid has a bright future |

Just curious what makes you think that Garth is going to get that top 4 defenseman?? - kasperrko
Because he read it on the Internet so it must be true. |

That's exactly it. Especially when the other team knows you are desperate for one as well. |

this in a nutshell is exactly the problem with the way some of us think here...we are talking about thomas hickey. we all know he isnt a top 2-4 guy. fact. there has to be an understanding that just bc someone isnt doughty keith or seabrook that its still possible for them to do their job. - LetsGoIsles
Agreed. But I think people also recognize the Isles reeeeally need a Doughty, Keith or Seabrook...or (in full recognition of how rare those players are) at least a poor man's version of one of them. I think there's plenty of depth to make a respectable 3-7. I'd say it actually looks pretty good in those spots. They need a 1-2 punch that can be relied on to log big minutes against the league's elite, and I don't think they have that with the current bunch. Maybe Hamonic can be one of those guys, with the right partner.
The "Metro" division (still hate that name)...I'm not sure how unstoppable the teams are as a whole, but most of them have high-powered superstars that feast on the Isles. Need a pair we know will make life hell for Crosby, Ovechkin, Eric Staal, Nash, Giroux, etc. |

I don't think strome and a d prospect is a laughable offer for bogosian. He's not drew doughty. He's a 20-30 point dman, not a Norris candidate.

i didnt say that he is going to get one...i said we are 10 days into free agency and so far hes improved the TEAM (not coaching staff), this is a business where things take time and quite frankly, garth HAS time to take. i wont be upset that no moves are made until opening night. |

but now youre mixing debates...could the isles use a top 2 guy? hell ya!!
but those names were brought into the mix when discussing hickey...those are 2 totally different players and different roles. |

I hate the metro division name as well.
To touch on what you said, when big forwards on the Bruins or Flyers plant themselves in Halaks crease, I'd like to know what the plan is on that.

Admirable, but it doesn't make it any less childish/contradictory. |
