Nobody wants them. Not going to win anything with that crew. They can't even find their own end and three of them are Dmen. - Beachcomber
Those three would probably be the Canucks top line, and they're Dmen. |

I think Evander Kane is the classic example of an athlete who was once disgruntled but finds a new setting/team and flourishes.
I can't believe there are not more teams trying to make a deal for him. More so I can't believe the Jets would even consider trading him. Maybe they should focus trying to build around him? Just my 2 cents. - Pelle31Forever
Hawks will take him and give the jets sharp and leddy |

Bernier had some garbage games too, pucks floating from across the rink making their way in the net LOL , Reimer was good in the world championships Scrivens was good too but in that final game Scrivens let a couple in that I think even Reimer would have had. Reimer is STILL a good goalie despite what low hockey IQ people think, amazing how he can do nothing but impress for 4 years including taking the Leafs to the playoffs for the first time in ten years , then a year later he is garbage and worthless? Yeah you sound SUPPPEEERRRRR smart - Mushton89
don't trouble yourself with Canuck fan commetary... that's a team that couldn't make up their mind which goalie was their number 1... then when they finally did the traded the wrong guy. Of course their compass is going to be a little off. |

yes the West is greater than the East... playoffs would tell us that.
but Richards to CHI doesn't make the West stronger... just more expensive. |

Why would a 1 time 30 goal scorer bring back as much as a 4 time 30 goal scorer ?
I don't want to hear about age difference, it's 3 years. Also, Kane has serious attitude issues that Ryan has never had. - golfingsince
its not 3 years. Bobby is 27, Evander is 22. They are about 4 1/2 years apart.
Kane has some attitude issues, but Bobby definitely has been questioned about his compete level, hence always being in the rumor mill while playing on the ducks.
“He is not intense. That word is not in his vocabulary,” Burke said during one meeting, as quoted by ESPN.com. “It’s never going to be in his vocabulary. He can’t spell intense."

I never said once Reimer is bad- he just is not a starting goalie... If he was TOR starting goalie this year would fans be comfortable with that?? As I know SJS would not... - saskoil21
with all due respect... what do Oilers fans know of starting goalies... I think the last one there was Ranford. |

your former gm wanted two of them + a first for Luongo, but you ended up with a 4th liner and 3rd string goalie.
Kadri would have led the nucks in scoring, so safe to say he would be highly sought after if he was available (which he is not).
Do you think the nucks are "going to win anything with that crew?"
Luongo+Kesler+Santorelli+Garrison out ...Miller+Vrbata+Bonino+Sbisa in...looks pretty similar to the team that was better only than the powerhouse alberta teams last year. |

So it's 4 years.
You figure a smart guy like Burke would have figured that out before he drafted him. |

And then you trade him next summer? You aren't any better off next summer cap wise with that move, and Sharp was the one who was supposed to be the relief. |

yeah well 4 is not 3. The jets dont move kane unless a young roster player, top prospect and a 1st come back. and no, Burrows + Markstrom is not even close |

the hawks are gonna have to make a lot of moves....71.7 mil next year with 15 players signed. That doesnt include Saad, who will get a sizable raise. |

Bernier career 2.51GAA/.918Sv%
Price 2.52/.917
Bernier was fantastic last year, and we were terrible when he was injured (cost us the season). I have no worries about the starting goaltending in Toronto.
And no, I'm not saying Bernier is at price's level. But he has the potential to be, he is the most talented keeper we have had since Belfour |

I wasn't insinuating Bernier isn't going to be your starter, but it's only been one season. The point was goaltending has been a problem for both teams for quite a while.
Also I would never have made the offensive-defensive shot of trying to suggest you were saying Bernier is as good as Price (given that you never came close). But I don't blame you for pre-defending yourself given some people on here |

Reimer Career: 2.88GAA/.911% Games played 140 Saves: 4198
Bernier Career: 2.51GAA/.918% Games played 117 Saves 3340
Both very comparable stats especially considering Reimer was ALWAYS on a weaker team with porous defence , facing almost 1000 more shots than Bernier. |

I think our goaltending has been pretty solid the last couple years..Reimer .924Sv% two season ago, Bernier .923 last year..before that was terrible. Gustavsson/Toskala/Raycroft, but most leafs fans arent worried about the tenders.
D is porous, but goalies are good |

I actually wouldn't argue that they're that comparable. A 9.11 with close to a 3.00 GAA is pretty bad. especially when you consider that two of the 4 years he's played it's been over a 3.00.
Your D was as bad as they've ever been last year, and Bernier still managed decent numbers. I don't think it's any question who to try and ride as a starter moving forward. |

yup, we were like 4th in the east. Bernier goes down, Reimer gives up 2-3 goals in the first period of nearly every game, and the tank is on.
Having two guys who want to be #1 doesnt work. Look at the Vancouver situation.
The same thing happened in LA, which allowed us to grab Bernier. Halak and price also come to mind. Ditto Rask and Thomas.
Look at the best teams in the league. One of LA/Chicago/STL/Boston/Anaheim will win the cup next year. the highest paid backup amongst the lot is 800,000.
Gotta ride your starter, and play solid D . |
