Guess it time to say it, been going on a while but I HATE talking about it, am actually separated from Wife. She's there w the kids, Im somewhere else, see em on weekends. Don't want to make a big thing of it but I know a lot of guys on here know me well from facebook & I NEVER mention it there. Its just a personal thing, am only comfortable talking about it w a very few people. Tough but it is what it is.

Same old, same old. Weather is good. Resting up for what we all hope will be another deep playoff run for the Rangers.

I can't wait for the season. Really want players like Miller, Lindberg, Fast to make the team and have a big impact. Will be awesome.

Also, I keep track Matt of all the films I own and watch. Been doing that since December. Weird, but I just wanna make sure I rewatch things I own and such.

Got my collection up to almost 250 films. I've watched 130 films since December 14th. So pimp!

As much as I wanted him to be moved, I knew for certain it wasn't going to happen. Your bother thought there was a small chance though

Do you know how many players under the age of 24 as of last Feb. 1 recorded at least 101 points over the last two seasons?
Six, and one of them is Derek Stepan.
Which is why, if Stepan has any kind of a season this year (and why wouldn’t he?), the Rangers’ No. 1 center will be in line to nearly double his cap hit from its current $3.075 million when he becomes an arbitration-eligible Group II free agent next summer.

which brings back the argument last summer that McDonagh and Stepan should have been treated the same, because McDonagh's contract is gold, and Stepan probably have been signed long term for around 4.5 million a year.

the only thing we can hope for is Rick Nash works his butt off this summer, and then has a concussion free season for the Rangers. Because he is an automatic 30 goals easily if he stays healthy.

His cap hit sucks, but he can be a dominant player for the Rangers and that's what we have to count on.

Remember how tight we were to the cap though? Zucc had to take like 1M.

I've said this often but I will say it again: If Marian Gaborik can overcome the playoff bugaboo in one postseason with the Kings, then Nash can do the same here. If he had been loafing throughout the playoffs and wasn't noticeable, I'd be real concerned. But since the hard work was there, the SOG were there, I'm hopeful he has a terrific postseason run in him.

As for the cap hit, yeah, it makes it tight right now but where else do you find a guy as talented as Nash? There aren't many around and few come available often. Was there a single UFA this year that you would have rather had? I can pretty much guarantee you pretty much any other player in the NHL could be a New York Ranger with a cap hit the same as Nash's and there would be a segment of the fans who would think he is overpaid.

Agreed...nashs cap hit really isnt that bad eithet considering what guys like kessel who have never scored 40 goals gets paid. Its not like his term puts him under contract until hes 40 either. He becomes a free agent in his early to mids 30s.

Dubi and Cally are $6M players. This is the new market. Nash's $7.8M will look better every year so long as he performs. Hopefully MSL resigns for similar money to what he is making now. I wouldn't object to signing Stepan now before he has the chance of a breakout year to a long term $5M-$6M deal.

In all fairness to the Leafs I think all 30 teams would take Kessel over Nash.

Barry Melrose the "skid row version" of Don Cherry says we're not very good and the Isles and Devils have gotten better while we're worse, if Mike Cammalier and Havlat make up ground on a team that missed the playoffs compared to a finalist then this league sucks, next season can't come soon enough, the one aspect of the offseason I am enjoying is the hypocrisy of Isles and Devils fans on spending money
- KreiderBomb

This is true although you guys are still better than both of us. Isles improved significantly just by getting a competent goalie. Make that 2 competent goalies.
