After seeking additional medical advice, doctors have decided not to perform surgery on Sidney Crosby’s wrist

So no surgery but the excuse still stands

He's a project and it's all mental. Not every team wants to deal with that. They're rather a kid they can just send to Barb Underhill and fix issues instead of requiring a live in therapist ala Bryz

Is is possible that alot of these guys are being told by teams to wait until some of their RFAs are figured out, so they have a better sense of their cap constraints. In some instances, they may even have deals agreed upon in principal, contingent upon the team having the space.

Who knows, however? Some decent players still sitting on the market.

he was quoted in an interview after the season saying that when he was traded to Nashville, it felt like he was being sent back to juniors.

I think teams are holding that attitude against him for sure

It's just crazy to think that this kid scored this goal 2 years ago that sent us into conference finals

What's even crazier is that the Rangers only have 7 players still on the roster from that 2011-2012 Conference Final Team: Stepan, Hagelin, Kreider, McDonagh, Girardi, Staal, and Hank. Am I missing anyone? That really is nuts when you think of it.

I do love that goal

Del Zotto was so awful in the Devil series after that it gets overlooked how well he played in that Capital series

Like Girardi in the Kings series. When you lose it's always easy to rip apart people. But in some cases, the other team is just better.

Who doesn't?

Crazy when you think about how Del Zotto has fallen. In the semi-final year, in 77 games, he had 10 goals, 31 assists, 41 points, and was a +20. Even in the lock-out year, he wasn't atrocious,at least from a numbers perspective, 46 Games, 3 Goals, 18 Assists, 21 Points, and +7.

And, the next year, he's traded, and isn't even qualified by the acquiring team. Time to get his crap together.

1 year/1 million. Another guy who had a career killing year. One year removed from being a point per game player for the caps.

I love...love...love that we may actually be giving a bunch of our young guys a chance. If it doesn't work out for some of them, keep the cap space and try to make an in season trade. But give them a chance to prove they belong

I dont think he meant career killing in terms of points. I think he meant it as the whole buyout/comments from Maloney about no showing up to practice as the career killer

I also love inserting youth into the lineup, but absent any other signings, it looks like the Rangers will have to insert three rookies -- Fast and Miller, probably, and someone else. I would prefer signing another forward on the cheap, and limited the rookie inclusions to two.

Maybe we should just re-sign Del Zotto for $1 million, and trade John Moore for a third liner and a pick.

Yeah, I did mean all the other stuff. Because let's be honest, from a pure production perspective, there are guys who are worse players that got 4 times more than he did.
