I would like to see zucc and brass get 4-5 year deals and CK get 6. Would u guys do staal for ROR? Things aren't looking good with him and Colorado.

i would prefer that they add a player who doesn't cost us staal, it has been mentioned before but colin wilson should be an option, 2 mil contract, last year scored 19 pts in 25 games before being injured, very complete player who can play center and wing. and i think nashville would like somebody like kristo, lindberg or fast.

I imagine ROR is going to ask for a lot of money and we can't afford him.

I LOVE colin wilson. Hands down one of the most underrated players in the entire league. He's very sinilar to stepan only more size but less hockey iq.

Is it a fair hockey trade though? Also Staal will cost us 5+ next year maybe only 1-2 less than ROR+/-.
Nash ROR Hags
MS Stepan X
Ck Brass Zucc
I like that center depth.

Have to give to get.
Mcd Girardi
Moore Boyle
Allen Klein
I'm fine with that, only reason Moore is on the 2nd pair is the lefty/right split

I think gone are the days where just because a player is having contract issues with his current team that means we are a candidate to swoop in and grab him.

If the Rangers were seriously considering trading Staal, I think Stralman would still be a Ranger. I don't see Staal going anywhere and think he is a serious candidate to be the teams next captain

Even assuming that the Rangers had the assets, and the cap space to make O'Reilly fit, another thing that they would need to consider is the very real possibility that Ryan O'Reilly just may be a bit of a dbag. Last time his contract was up, he signed a Flames offer sheet, and now he's right back into contract negotiation hell with the Avs. To me, he is a player that took advantage of the offer sheet route to get more than he probably should have been entitled to at that point of his career, and now he is having another contentious negotiation.

I get is a business, and I don't begrudge guys trying to make their money, but there is something about O'Reilly that just bugs me.

No thanks. Remember all those minutes staal played against crosby, malkin, and giroux in the playoffs? Now imagine john moore playing them.

Stralman was a casualty of Boyle IMO and has nothing to do with Staal. Staal is one of my favorite Rangers but when u have an opportunity to get a player of ROR caliber at 23 years old at a position you're currently VERY weak in, you do it. Not saying the trade is on the table or is even being talked about but it's something I would do. Think Seguin. With ROR, Step and Brass we have 3 centers all capable of putting up 60+ points.

Not saying Moore is equal to Staal in any way but he's not a traffic cone either. I've been very happy with his progress. Who knows, maybe Allen steps up, we have skeji(sp?) In a year or 2 also.

If you have the opportunity to sign (in this case re-sign) a 27 year old all-star, defensive defensemen in his prime capable of shutting down the likes of Crybaby, Malkin and Ovi, to fill out your defense in front of your all world goalie, you do it.

Just saying

with all the talk about how much we desperately are going to miss Stralman, it makes me realize that when he got hurt in Bruins series two years ago, nobody really talks about the impact that had. Along with not having Staal in that series because of the eye injury.

Now suddenly we can't live without Stralman, but it was no big deal when he got hurt back then.

It's crazy.

because the truth is, he blossomed under AV but was interchangeable under Torts. Different style of play all around, one of those "he fits the system" type of situations. I think if Torts didn't get fired and he coached this season, we wouldn't be too upset over losing him and who knows how well he'll do in Tampa. No one has a crystal ball and we all know how 1 standout season warrants huge contracts in this league now

definite good points

I have not been as devastated as others have been about losing Stralman.

I think Stralman is a guy you love for all the things he does when he is only making 1.8 million.

When he is making 4.5 million you will look more at all the things he doesn't do.

Yea I keep on saying Boyle is gonna make us forget about Stralman pretty fast. Just brings a total different vibe to the d corps that they haven't had in a while.
