Was just looking Ladd up. He's 28 now and has 2 seasons remaining @4.4m per before becoming a UFA.

I think a player like Ladd could easily go another 5 years as a 1st/2nd line winger. The question is, if we traded for him, would he re-sign here for 5m or under or would he take one look at Bolland and co making their $ and collect his 6m+ in 2 years' time?

Kassian is still one of those in the potential category. Quite a few things he still needs to work out. Ladd is already there. One in the hand is worth 2 in the bush IMO.

Above all, if we want to entertain trading for Ladd here, a combination of 3rd liners and back-up goalies won't get it done. We'll need to actually give something of value.

Returned to Russian. Apparently signed a 3 yr deal (with an out-clause after each season).

He's Czech. Sorry, meant to say he returned to the KHL but just looking him up I saw that he played for Slavia Prague (Czech League) and not the KHL.
