This back to work stuff sucks. After 17 off I didn't want to go back. $6 per hour raise makes it a lot easier.

Grouse Grind Record Time Shattered
The New Time to Beat is a Staggering 23:48!

August 24, 2010. Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver, B.C . - Twenty-three year-old Sebastian Salas of Vancouver knew when he reached the ¾ mark of the Grouse Grind trail in just over 18 minutes that he stood a real chance of setting a new course record today.

To say the previous record of 24:22 - set by New Zealand champion mountain runner Jonathan Wyatt - was “beaten” is an understatement. Shaving 32 seconds off a world-class, 6-year record is better described with superlatives such as “annihilated” or “destroyed”.

That guy also won the Whistler Gran Fondo - then shortly thereafter got busted for doping and suspended.

dude looked pretty beastly from the pics, no wonder they call him ox. 220 is pretty big for 6' tall unless you have a high BF%

edit: also botch. enough said.

I haven't seen him skating this week but it sounds like the kid was doing what he thought he needed to to get on the big club. Might've overshot the mark a bit. Unfortunately muscle is heavy and losing muscle mass doesn't happen quickly.

Yeah, he's gonna dominate some junior players physically if sent back down this season. There's some guys weighing less than like 150 in the CHL, and plenty under 170.

Apparently he said that he was planning to bulk up hard and then cut down 5 pounds before main camp. Not a bad idea IMO.

haven't really seen him either besides the odd drill of him circling around. Cant get much from that. I have no problem with him being 220 as long as he doesnt look like sundin when he first got here. Dude was pumpin those legs and just wasnt going anywhere.

That's assuming losing 5 pounds will be enough to regain all of his former pace. Might not be.

Speaking of them drills, that vid I saw of Shinkaruk's stick-handling yesterday was pretty impressive.

I think he'll be fine, his legs are pretty well built, especially for his age. I doubt all of his weight gain was upper body, a powerful lower body can improve speed even with added mass.

This is NOT an issue so I don't really know what Botch would be referring to.

Players lose between 4-7 pounds in a NHL game. This would be seen as positive and not a negative.

No, it is actually all water weight. In reference to a game

http://www.exploratorium.edu/hockey/fitness1.html

Even though this is an old article it is still on point. PK Subban said during that 24 ch Habs show that he loses 12 pounds a season.

Bulking down is 5X easier than bulking up. When I player college hockey they would just make you skate 100 laps to bulk down.
