I think you mean that Miller will be older at the end of his 3 yr deal than Schneider will be at the end of his 7 yr deal...
- KB3Point0

I'd much rather have Miller and Horvat at 6.925M than Schneider at 6M through his prime.

Ahhh... Well I still love that value based on the deals that have been handed out this year.

As Bloated pointed out, he has minimum NHL games under his belt to warrant 6mil a year. I know he has always been a favourite of yours and a few others on these boards, and I'm sure at year 5, 6 of the contract, that may be a bargain. I see it as paying for potential on a really suspect team, for the first 3+ years.

Also didn't like the Miller signing, 4.5 a year for 3 with no NTC

I think Shink will be ready Skill wise i just worry about his physical ability to take the NHL sized punishmnet over the whole season. If he plays in the NHL I want them to sit him from time to time like Dallas did with their big russian winger.

All of our centers aside from Henrik can play the wing. That shouldn't kep Horvat from being on the team. I am going to take Benning at his word that if there are kids that earn roster spots he'll trade vets. I love the competition coming into camp. Last year we all knew what the roster looked like save a couple spots.

During the summit he was asked about youth in the line-up to start the season, his response at that time was "if they shine in training camp we will do our best to get them in the line-up". Just a little different this time, but I'm with everyone that wants more youth if they can earn it.

I agree with those who think Horvat could use another year in junior, I'm worried about Shink and his size (lack of), but I'm ready to be impressed.

Vey at 22 is (in my mind) still a kid, just not one drafted by the canucks.

Linden Vey better be good with all of the hype from the brass we keep hearing.

If you have Henrik, Bonino, Vey, Richardson where does that leave space for the kids?

Since 2010 Schneider has the same sv% (.928) as Tukka Rask (.927) in roughly the same amount of games (133 to Rask's 146).

In fact Schneider has the highest sv% of anyone in the league since 2010, albeit with obviously less games than the Lundquists, Prices, etc.

And Corey Crawford is on the same cap hit. I'd say Schneids is worth that contract.

A benefit from the teams he's played on? Not saying anything bad about Schneids but (as we found out) AV have an amazing ability to protect player minutes so they could be successful no matter their skill set.

If $6m is great value then what would be poor value in Schneids case? $8m per?

He had a great sv% this season on pretty mediocre NJD that simply couldn't score in front of him. He's a good goalie man. He just needs to keep proving it over a 60 game season.

$6M is great value for a goalie of his calibre to be locked up for the time he is. $6.5M would be stomach-able. $7M or above would be poor value. IMO of course!

Hard to expect a lot out of a 22 year old with 18 games of NHL experience.

94 goals, rookie of the year Conn Smythe would be a nice start.

Bezz, you need to follow a better diet as well as a strict regime as follows:

1) Beer filled donuts (good start, there, as you suggested)
2) Beer filled schnitzel with side of donuts
3) Donuts with a side of donuts
4) Absolutely no boinking 8 months before taking the challenge
5) 22 cups of espresso (with dipping bearclaws - no, not the David Booth kind)
6) Try hitching a ride on a conducive beaver for some of the way up
7) Focus on the tree bark, if it's on the south side of the tree, it means you're going down, feck face
8) Get AlexF, Lefty, Vintage, Petro, Nucker, Bieksa and of course Kaaptan to take turns piggy backing you up the steep parts (make sure you have Herr Doctor with you in case you need more ecstasy).

Hope these tips help!

P.S. all my teachers are in convalescent homes

Edit: also bring Vantel's balut snacks to mark your territory barfing
