I think the record is around 25mins, too lazy to check.

Grouse Grind Record Time Shattered
The New Time to Beat is a Staggering 23:48!

August 24, 2010. Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver, B.C . - Twenty-three year-old Sebastian Salas of Vancouver knew when he reached the ¾ mark of the Grouse Grind trail in just over 18 minutes that he stood a real chance of setting a new course record today.

To say the previous record of 24:22 - set by New Zealand champion mountain runner Jonathan Wyatt - was “beaten” is an understatement. Shaving 32 seconds off a world-class, 6-year record is better described with superlatives such as “annihilated” or “destroyed”.

poop, that is insane. Hard to train for that thing. Such a crazy workout. No matter what your condition, always feels like death.

there's being in shape and then there's being in Grouse Grind shape! One of the better mental and physical tests out there. 3/4 of the hike is your body just saying STOP!!!!!

Whats insane is Federov got that after sitting out part of the season and demanding that. He got that for playing like 43 games, the playoffs included in that. That was just for 21 regular season games.
- YzermanIsTheMan

Of course, he did only make $2M in each of the next 5 years. $6.3M a year average.

I always seem to fool myself into thinking I've gone halfway before I even get to the 1/4 mark

Depends where you live and what you are training for. If I had to sit through an hour and a half of traffic (plus the 10 bucks to take the gondola) for the majority of my workouts I would be obese right now

Linden Vey better be good with all of the hype from the brass we keep hearing.

If you have Henrik, Bonino, Vey, Richardson where does that leave space for the kids?

It doesn't. Some of us see that as a problem. We've been discussing it for a week now.

Vey qualifies as a kid and he's the only young center who should make the team this year anyways. It's Higgins & Hansen who are in Shinkaruk & Jensen's way of earning roster spots that I'm more concerned about. If Vey, Shink, Jensen and Corrado make the team, that's plenty of youth infused and I don't think we'd suffer for it.

Schneider's extension is rumoured to be a seven-year, $42 million contract ($6M per) that will keep him a member of the Devils through the 2020-21 season.

Vey does only have 18 games of nhl exp, he is still pretty green. I am thinking there will be some juggling from C to wing for some. Maybe Horvat makes 3c and vey plays wing or vice versa. But yeah, if shink + jensen make the team i'd be shocked honestly.

Oh man, whatta bargain. Signed through his entire prime for the same cap hit we just gave a worse goaltender (IMO) who's older than Schneider will be at the end of that deal.

I think you mean that Miller will be older at the end of his 3 yr deal than Schneider will be at the end of his 7 yr deal...

Don't use poor UFA signings by the canucks as a benchmark. It will make all recent contracts look good.

But $6 million to a player who's had a maximum 46 games played in a single season? His next highest games played total is 33.

That's gambling on his 'potential' (as much as a 28 year old has potential...).

I feel like there is a spot for an offensive winger, I just think Jensen will absolutely be the favourite between those two to win it as he has NHL size and about the same NHL experience as Vey who is expected to be in the lineup

Miller is 34 at the start of THIS season. Schneider will turn 34 the year he finishes that extension.

I think Shink will be ready Skill wise i just worry about his physical ability to take the NHL sized punishmnet over the whole season. If he plays in the NHL I want them to sit him from time to time like Dallas did with their big russian winger.

All of our centers aside from Henrik can play the wing. That shouldn't kep Horvat from being on the team. I am going to take Benning at his word that if there are kids that earn roster spots he'll trade vets. I love the competition coming into camp. Last year we all knew what the roster looked like save a couple spots.

Horvat has the type of skillset that would realllllllly benefit from a domination year in Junior. He still needs some offensive skillset growth and he can toy with/develop his creative side & offensive confidence down there. He's the type I would absolutely not rush to this level - physically mature or not. Shinkaruk's mental game is ready for the NHL as far as I'm concerned... If he's physically ready to compete he requires no further mental growth for his particular role at any other level.

Ahhh... Well I still love that value based on the deals that have been handed out this year.
