Maybe not "great", but he is a solid two-way forward. Definitely underrated in his own zone.

In the next three years the blues will win a cup.

Tell you what. If the Blues win in the next three years, I'll become a Blues fan for life. If they don't, you become a Hawks fan for life.

Baseball contracts are the worst.

As long as you don't suck you will make a minimum of $10 mil annually.

Isnt that sad... and due to the length of schedule - most seats majoriity of the year are left unfilled in most MLB cities... MLB is the worst followed by NBA

It's all due to the fact that there is no salary cap. I can't even fathom the contracts players like LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, Adrian Peterson, Peyton Manning, etc. would be making if there was no salary cap in their respective sports.

If the blues dont win in the next 2 years I could see them Vancouver bound... too many old core players...

And "you're" reasoning as to why the 'Hawks are screwed is only getting more and more logical! Let's just take stabs at criticizing the fans instead of the actual organization only reinforces the jealousy as well as lack of reason.

Please, be the first to enlighten me (or other Blackhawk fans viewing this forum) as to why they are in trouble.

- TommyHawk

They might not be in trouble. It appears that they might be.

If the cap doesn't go up they will have trouble resigning some of their players or matching offer sheets.

I dont see how you can't see that?

Saad is going to be expensive.
Kruger will want a hefty raise.

Down the road the resources may run dry.

It's not certain to but there is a chance the hawks will be in a bad spot.

Just opinoins no need to get personal.

He's gotta be the clutch player to lead his team to success. That's my defining aspect he hasn't hit yet.
- YzermanIsTheMan

IMO he has. 61pts in 57 playoff games that's production where it counts. If he didn't play the way he did this past season the Flyers don't even make the playoffs.

Its hard for me to admit I've been a closet Hawks fan for years. My dad's father was a huge Chicago fan and took me to a ton of BH games when I was a kid while my dad took me to a ton of RW games. I do like the Hawks, just not nearly as much as the Wings.. and there was that rivalry.

I've never liked the Blues, never thought highly of them, so it'd be a push for me to support the Blues. And I'm sure its the same for a Blues fan about becoming a Hawks fan. Deal?

I would give them about 4-5 years if they keep making smart moves. But yeah, it can happen.

I guess we just differ and thats ok. Thats why we debate, eh?
Like I said, I'd take Giroux on the Wings in a heart beat.

Well, the poop tons of Pens fans don't help with the lack of love around the NHL fans. What would you, if you were Hextall, want from the Wings for Giroux? Mantha and Nyquist off the table.

- kiddels2

Yeah, not worth buying him out. Trade him while eating up some salary and get something in return, even if its not much. Otherwise, use him as you currently do. Without Dion, though, Toronto could be McDavid or Eichel bound!

If your point is just that Carter isn't a top 10 center, then no. I agree. If you think his defensive play is a reason why he isn't, then you're just plain wrong.

Next lockout will not be about revenue share. It will be about non-guaranteed contracts. NHL needs to get away from being stuck in these deals.

Of course the Leafs should trade Phaneuf, but nobody wants his hefty contract. Unless the Leafs pickup about $2 mill annually on that contract.
- Jammerz04

Orpik grets 5.5 million, but people will only consider taking Dion at 5 million?

Carter is solid two-way player. And at center, those are at a premium for his skill level too.

I remember when the Leafs made the playoffs and I thought they were finally on the up and up. Then Clarkson got a contract. And Bozak, and Phaneuf, and Kessel....

But hey, Komarov is back!

He's pretty much there with the Clarkson signing and the ongoing goalie controversy between Bernier and Reimer.
- Alexzanki

What controversy? Bernier is clearly #1.
