I won't disagree with that.

But there's still room for improvement on the 2nd line, IMO... not that I'd mind giving Clarkson another chance/seeing what Leivo could do.

I'm just saying, more offensive depth wouldn't hurt the team, even if it's not the top priority... and there aren't too many options to fix the defense in free agency anymore.

exactly.. lots of guys to fill the one winger spot open in the top 6.. clarkson, leivo, hell frattin should be given a shot as well.

maybe one of the new guys

Lets get Alfie.

No Leafs on the team have history with him anymore, and it'd piss off Ottawa fans to no end.

- Feeling Glucky?

That was my first thought. I think it would be (frank)in hilarious.

And I wouldn't be surprised if we all embraced it and cheered for him.

Setoguchi should get picked up

I'm not comparing the players, I am comparing the assets required to obtain either.

It is very easy to make a broad statement lke "X is a terrible hockey player"...provide some back-up. You're here frequently - why don't you add some value and grace us with your superior hockey knowledge. Learn me. Why is Stewart terrible? I don't think he's so bad deployed properly, and he has the statistics to back that up over his career.

- Deeps27

He's terrible defensively, he overachieved in Colorado for one season, he wasn't very good with the Blues but thank God the Blues were great so he put up a few points.

I'm not gonna bring up his advanced stats, because quite frankly, I don't feel like starting an argument about that again.

Guys.. I just looked at Levios numbers.. Guy hit 1 point a game in his final year in the O.

He's not exactly lighting up the A either.

the issue at question originally was Heatley signing for $1 million. you denigrate him by comparing him to someone currently making 4 times that much. obviously he underperformed his contract the last few years. but this is still a guy who is one season removed from being at least on pace to score 20+ and close in on 50 points. the point, dozzer, is that just because a player underperforms, it doesn't mean they suck. Dion Phaneuf might never be a $7 million defenceman. it doesn't mean he sucks.
