When is the big day, or has it passed.. I thought you were already married.
- bixll

Yeah, almost five years ago.... it's just that we don't get to see the folks that often with living out here in AB. Though the aforementioned bridesmaid will be on project here until September at least, so we'll get to see more of her

Semyon Varlamov coming back to earth will have a lot to do with it imho.

Yup. Getting Senator'd/ Craig Anderson'd wont help.

But you can be sure that the only explanation from that group will be "told you so" and will ignore the big loss up front and any potential goaltending fallback.

I assume you stuck to the beer? Once you mix, things go downhill.

They had possession issues all season long and they were exposed during their series against the Wild.

My Dad, God bless him went into Walgreens when he first started to go to Florida for winters, asked if they had Gravol for nausea, the pharmacist asked him why would you take gravel for nausea. They had no idea what it was.

Iginla should (in theory) help out a bit with that... his numbers represent an increase on many of their guys.

To be honest, I think they need more help on the back end to really help get their time with the puck back up to snuff

yes for sure. i agree with that. but he was lights out last year. he got (frank)ed in the W column by historically poor shootout performances by the Devils and the team probably could have made the POs if he was the full time starter. the club has confidence in him and they already invested a top-10 pick in him. he wasn't going to sign a long term deal for anything less, not coming off a season where he had to split starts. so the only other option was to offer him a short term deal that would take him to UFA and possibly alienate him. to me, that's a far bigger risk than giving him $6 million per.
- DoubleDown

I still think 6mil for a guy that has never been a true #1, even once in his career is a bit much. He's accomplished less that some other guys that are making less and signed long term.

They don't have Gravol there? Man, I thought that the US was the land of OTC pharma!

Florida for winters also sounds great... your dad got that one right

(frank), if we end up being stuck with Franson for over $3m a year I might just vomit.

You have that box ready to go yet?

- lumlums

One year I can live with.

Leafs aren't doing much this year - Shanahan has made it clear that this is a year to develop players from within.

you obviously don't get it because you're laughing at the idea of it being high-risk, high-reward.
- DoubleDown

No I'm laughing at the idea that one is a high reward and one isn't. also laughing at the Idea that the Leafs should have signed him (as if he had no choice, and that he filled more a need than the guy he was compared to)

Keep in mind.
He was UFA. How much do you think Jonathan Bernier will want at the end of the season?

So develop Granberg. From what I've seen on the marlies, he could pretty much skate rings around Franson. He's a righty as well, so could slot into the third line nicely

at least 6 mil based on comparison.

Was Quick not signed as impending UFA??

And this kinda goes to my point. He's 28, an an impending UFA and has yet to play as a true #1....and yet there are guys that are younger and have accomplished and proven more and signed long term.

Let's hopes tonnes - that'll mean he had a great year and established himself as a good #1 starter.

..and Varlamov who didn't accomplish much of anything before signing his extension with the Avalanche.
