The way I see it, those guys would be more expensive to acquire. And aquiring Kane for 2nd line duty does improve an area of need for the Leafs: Scoring depth.

I think Kane could be had for less than he's worth, and there's no team that couldn't use a young powerforward.

i don't think he could. there will be tons of teams interested in his services, and he doesn't have an NTC (as far as i know). chevyeldoff ( no idea how to spell that ) will want a high return for him, IMO, and will likely get what he wants.

If RoR was even remotely available I'm sure they would be all over that. Nobody moves top line centres (except to Dallas). I don't see a fit in a trade with Kane unless they're willing to move JVR or Kadri, +.

Leafs screwed themselves when they traded D'Amigo.

D'Amigo, Reimer and Franson (+ a conditional 4th round pick) would have been enough to get Kane out of Winnipeg.

Now we have nothing.
