Doesn't make sense from the Jets perspective. Everyone know the Bruins want to move Boychuk. Like Ryder and Brunner, it severely diminishes his trade value.

More like Smith and Bartkowski for Kane.

And that's what I mean about the Jets having a market for their player.

Whether it's Henrique and Merril, Smith and Bartkowski, or Simmonds and Schenn at this moment they're going to try to get someone to pay.

And smith and Bart for Kane?

Chia would make that trade in a heartbeat.

Which shows you are miscalculating value here.

You are out of your mind to think that a right shooting shut down d-man that is only a $3.5 mil hit, granted its one year, isn't valuable.

Johnny rocket will be traded this year and it will be for a very good return.

Hell Calgery, avs, and wild are interested.

And team like Detroit, where Babcock has been whining for a right shot for awhile.

I just don't think you realize the worth of boychuck, waaaaaaaaay more than Ryder.

- JIwasinskiJr

Good luck with that.

No ones discussing who the better player is. Boychcuk is much better than Ryder.

That has nothing to do with it. It's a matter of what's on your depth chart.

I could be. I know he got a little cold in the playoffs, but I would've thought Smith to be one of your more valuable forwards in terms of 'what you could trade'. Obviously not moving Bergeron or Kerjci just as NJ wouldnt move Elias or Zajac. If my assertion is incorrect, they probably ask for Krug or Hamilton with Smith instead.

My deal would be B Schenn for Kane straight up. Neither player has exactly thrilled their teams its a fair swap of POTENTIAL players.
- MANXMAN

I'd much rather have Kane than Schenn and I'm sure many others would too. No offense

You bash one point if view.

Present your argument which I say hell yeah too.

And then start naming random d men, ones that you know will not be traded.
Hell Hamilton is already an NHL #2.

And isn't Marchand a yearly 25 goal scorer under contract for 4.5 for a few more years?

Yet somehow he is way less valuable than Kane, a player that is clearly going to need some work?

Plus, chia would give up almost a half dozen of our younger d man not named Hamilton or krug, because we have them.

I think too many people have either never watched Kane play and/or have no idea what the JETS have and need. Also, you need to (re)read what Chevy said he would want as per GL "Chevy and #nhljets would want a young top 6 F or young top 4 D in return for Kane. Player must be coming of age or in prime and locked up".

In other words, not a prospect who might eventually be something, or picks, or depth players, or old guys...Kane is a 30 goal scorer who is 23 yrs old with lots of potential to be better. This season it looks like he will get the play with Scheifele & Wheeler, so we will find out what he can do.

If you think your team would want Kane, look at a guy that has similar ability and is similar age off your team....then consider what it would take for you to consider moving them. Once you have done that, maybe then you might understand where the JETS would be coming from. They do not need a C, unless it is a #1...we already have Little, Scheifele and now Perreault....we do need another winger, even with Kane and another top 4 D.

I do not see most of the names being tossed around amounting to anything the JETS would even consider. Kane is signed for 4 more years as well...his value is going nowhere but up.

You told me I over-estimated Smith's value. He's younger and more skilled than Marchand, so I thought he may have more upside.

You told me that's wrong.

If that's wrong they'd probably ask for a better defenseman. Granted I know nothing about what prospects you may or may not have. I just know Krug and Hamilton are right above Bartkowski and Miller on your depth chart.

Basically, I was just trying to take your word that you may know a little more about their organization,

Saying Hamilton is a #2 defenseman and Kane needs work.....might be a bit of a stretch on each.

A better trade with Philly I think would look like this...

B Schenn
Coburn
Simmonds OR Voracek
2015 1st

for

E Kane
Byfuglien

Both teams need a shakeup, and its well known that the Flyers covet both Kane and Buff... Wpg wants to move Buff to fwd but Buff wants to play D, and Phi would put him back on the blueline where he prefers to play... The salary implications in this deal are almost dollar for dollar, so I think this would be good for both teams. The only sticking point could be Coburn's limited NMC.

Did you read what they would want? They don't want picks or older players.

Someone else posted it above but, in the end it it's a top 6 foward under contract entering or in his prime (brad Marchand)

OR

A top 4 d man under contract entering or in his prime.

If that is what Winnipeg is asking for then Marchand and boychuck would be an over payment.

And sit back an be amazed with Dougie this year, FYI.

I'm kinda glad you guys grabbed Larson and we got Dougie. He is going to be a fricken stud and will be IMO a weber type player. Laugh now, but mark it down, he was a steal.

Would the Devils trade Henrique, Larson and the rights to Ilya Kovalchuk for Kane?
