I agree that's a horrible trade for the Flyers. As a Jets fan I would be all over that. - TheUltimateJet
How is getting the best 2 players in the trade a bad deal for the flyers? Usually a team only has to get the ONE best player in a trade to be considered the "winner" of any deal, but here the flyers get the best TWO players, and its a bad deal? The flyers also clear close to 1M in cap space to boot!!!
How about a deal with the Bruins then? Kane would fit their style nicely...
Marchand
Boychuck
for
Kane?
This clears 2M from bostons cap and fills a couple needs for Wpg... |

My deal would be B Schenn for Kane straight up. Neither player has exactly thrilled their teams its a fair swap of POTENTIAL players. |

Agree... A change of scenery for both.
The Flyers will not trade with Jake or Wayne.

Doesn't make sense from the Jets perspective. Everyone know the Bruins want to move Boychuk. Like Ryder and Brunner, it severely diminishes his trade value.
More like Smith and Bartkowski for Kane.
And that's what I mean about the Jets having a market for their player.
Whether it's Henrique and Merril, Smith and Bartkowski, or Simmonds and Schenn at this moment they're going to try to get someone to pay. |

How about the following:
To Pitt:
Evander Kane
To WPG:
Sutter
Despres or Doumalin
1st Round Pick
Heck we'll even throw in Zatkoff to be your back up. Thoughts from WPG? |

It's said he wants a top 6 FW in return for Kane.
Zajac, Jagr, Henrique, Elias, Cammalleri.
Jagr is a 1 year deal he just re-signed. I don't see that happening.
I believe Zajac is from the Peg, and the Jets are one of the few other teams where he might still be able to get top 6 ice time.
Henrique? He could be a top 6 staple down the road and he's the guy I would like NJ to keep, but at the price of Kane, it's d-able.
Elias? Can't see that happening.
Cammalleri just signed here.
So what TOP 6 FW does NJ have to offer?
Brunner, Ryder, Havlat, Clowe, Rutuu, Zubrus, Gio, and Bernier are not top 6 FWs. |

Hate to break it to you, but it would have to be Pouliot instead of Despres or Dumoulin |

Being a bottom 25 ish pick, that first rounder doesn't have as much value as you might think
Probably Kunitz instead of Sutter.
The guys that you want to "dump" don't have value to other teams. Sutter is a 3rd line defensive center. Hardly the centerpiece for a trade. |

I don't know if I part with Pouliot. Maybe we could send Letang instead of Despres or Doumalin and get back either Bogo or Buff? Maybe not? |

Not sure anyone is too eager to deal for the guy with a heart condition. |

Based on the Blog I don't know how would Ryder be a better player than Sutter? I get that he plays on the 3L with us but as shown in the playoffs if Sutter has wingers he can score. Could definitely be a 2C on many teams in the NHL. |

I actually agree with this trade, I think it's going to take some thing like Henrique and a Dman from NJ or Kadri and a D man from Toronto.

Nobody said Ryder was better than Sutter.
The players that other GM's know you want to move can not and will not be used as "pieces" in a trade. GM's are too smart for that.
More likely, they get you a 5th round pick. |

I wonder if Toronto would do Kadri and Gardiner based on all the pressure they're under. That's a lot, but from the Jets standpoint if you call 5-6 teams and set the market like that....someone probably gives in. |

I wouldn't. You give up a young NHLer who shows up every night for two guys who might not. |

I was thinking something along the lines of either Kadri and either Gardiner or Matt Finn or in a different direction Kadri and Reimer. I think that while a D-man would help, that Reimer could either push, or push out Pavlec.

You are out of your mind to think that a right shooting shut down d-man that is only a $3.5 mil hit, granted its one year, isn't valuable.
Johnny rocket will be traded this year and it will be for a very good return.
Hell Calgery, avs, and wild are interested.
And team like Detroit, where Babcock has been whining for a right shot for awhile.
I just don't think you realize the worth of boychuck, waaaaaaaaay more than Ryder. |
