Kind of like saying "I'm not insulting you, I'm just telling you
That I am a 10 and you are a zero -it is what it is."

Staal is a fine player who played tough minutes. He was a drag on Stralman's possession numbers. If that's a shot in your mind, so be it.

My beef w yer blogger is all his posts
Slagging Marc Staal as he touts Stralman.
Lay off our boy.
I would still pose a civil argument that he is
Overrating Stralman but when he
Starts saying he was 'dragging
Marc staal around' its not
Only totally false but
Insulting to a really good player
Who helped revive stralmans career.

I just don't think you can say Staal helped revive Stralman's career when the numbers show that Stralman was better away from Staal than with Staal. I'd give Tortorella a lot of credit for the revival, if we're being honest about this.

Whats the sample size regarding staal and stralman playing away from each other? I really dont remember them playing away from each other for more than like 10 shifts total all year.

Staal and stralman complimented each other perfectly. I wouldnt say either made the other.

so use the massive sample size of them with each other to realize stralmans numbers go down and staals go up.

You also need to realize that corsi is an imperfect stat. Its a formula based on assumptions and other stats that are very generic and open to human error. Simply, corsi doesn't perfectly and accurately measure possession.

Torts does get a lot of credit -for instilling
A solid defensively responsible mindset in all
The rangers D -stralman likely benefitted the
Most as he atarted at the lowest point of their
Top 4-5 D group.
As for the advanced stats I say eff them
If they betray what my eyes see.
If you want to stick by the term 'drag' in reference
To bringing possession #s down, so be it;
Staal is a drag. Hes probably a real
Downer at parties too.
