wow, that is a ton. I honestly don't know enough about him to weigh in.

I know enough about Brayden Schenn and a 2015 1st to confidently and vehemently say (frank) no to that deal

One of the more interesting things I read in the transcript from the STH report (thanks for that link, great read) was that Berube sees Umberger as the likely player on the 1st line LW spot.

That has a lot of ramifications if it holds true.
BSchenn stays as center...
Where to play VL (1st line RW and play Jake on BSchenn's line?)
Or VL at center.

Hexy is going to be a solid GM.
Look at the subtle but smart decision making process regarding Ty McGinn
The fact that he has to go through waivers, and they would likely lose him for nothing.
Instead he gets fair value back in a trade.
McGinn may go on and have an NHL career, but the numbers ahead of him on the Flyers forwards this year worked against him.

I like B. Schenn, but Kane would be nice. It's that first round pick that tips the scale to favor WPG tremendously, especially 2015 being touted as a strong draft

You think it is a ton? I think Kane and Schenn are close to a wash. I think Kane has more value right now so adding a dman helps them fill a need on the back end because buff is moving to forward. So buff fills their wing need a schenn can slide into center for them. We get a top line winger for giroux.

I don't think that experiment with Buff worked out, I believe he's staying on the blue line

Yes! Pryor doesn't think Laughton or ghost will be with the flyers next year! A new direction indeed!

Not surprised. Hexy kept a very promising and talented Bernier in the minors for years while the kings played guys like Ersberg and LaBarbara in Net. Hexy will not rush the youth.

Lombardi kept Bernier in the minors. I am sure Hexy had ideas bounced off him but ultimately it was Lombardi who decided.

True, but Hexy ran the minor league team for Lombardi, and in all of the interviews, it was Lombardi giving the Mic to Hextall whenever the press asked about bringing up players. Lombardi had the final say, but he deferred a lot to Hexy in this area.

I keep seeing this Kane thing on all hockey sites it seems. So what is the best offer we make to get him? I know my opinion might be different then the restI thinhe is the legit 1st line player to play with giroux and snipe 40 goals on the wing.

2015 1st rounder
B. Schenn
Grossmann or L.Schenn

For
E. Kane
2015 4th rounder

- J35Bacher

That's way too much for Kane and I actually really like Kane.

I'd be ok with letting Schenn go, it's the 1st next year that worries me. I'd like to hold onto that if possible.

you can't get without giving. If you want you can drop the picks off. But if WPG is giving up their top line winger, who is young and has been producing and on a reasonable contract. Those factor in.

Maybe you can get away with giving upa 2nd. I think WPG would want some pick to try and get a forward in next years draft to eventually replace kane

If it's B Schenn and Grossmann for him, then I'd do it. But I wouldn't include a 2015 1st (or second), and I don't think Hexy would, either. This is a team that will be built through the draft, and I don't think trading the first in possibly the best draft since 2003 is a good way to go about that.

They want to get rid of him, so that's a Winnipeg problem. You negotiate from there.

I certainly wouldn't give up a first round pick AND a blueliner. I understand what you were going for there, but it just creates another hole.
