Im very excited to see the Flyers new 3rd jersey. I would guess it's black primarily, right?
- JAKEw1234

Oh, no! We have a third jersey coming? I have to admit, all black doesn't seem as right as all orange.

It's good for a third jersey, though.

thanks, just in case some here cannot divide

I divided yesterday. There are two of me at half the weight.

It's awesome.

Totally disagree.

Jeff Carter and Marian Gaborik were arguably their best players through the Kings most recent playoff run. No disrespect to Williams who was clutch. Both were brought in to be impact players long after their development around deadline time in a splash. Justin Williams is a very nice player but he was brought in long after already having a Cup ring. Richards was another splash. Kopitar, Brown, Doughty and Quick is solid drafting but they do not win their Cups without trading for Richards, Carter, Williams, Gabrik and Dustin Penner to make immediate impact. Keep in mind, LA didn't exactly wait for Jack Johnson, Wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn to pan out.

I wouldn't call the Hawks and Kings mirror images of one another. The Hawks have proven they do not need a true number one goal to win, or even a great goalie to win. They've also proved they could give away half their roster after winning in 2010 and still contend each year. Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook are all from within their system and all came from high drafting when they stunk.

I'm not so sure the King could simply give away Dustin Byfuglien, Brian Campbell, Andrew Ladd, Kris Verteeg, Troy Brouwer, Brent Sopel, John Madden and Antti Niemi in a day and not skip a beat. I didn't even name Adam Burish and Ben Eager.

I believe the Kings would miss two of their top six a lot if they were traded away.

So you are saying that the Kings team is built around Gaborik and Carter?

Just because they added supplementary players that are VERY good doesn't mean that the team is built around those players.

You would hope they aren't putting Pulock in the NHL already
- JAKEw1234

Maybe not but his offense is definitely there and like many bottom feeding teams, they tend to rush their young players.

You should just sit down and write a novel based on your take of how much you hate everything associated with the current Flyers management system and distribute it throughout hockeybuzz instead of posting novelettes 10 times a day.

I never said the Kings were built around Carter and Grabrik...at all.

I'm saying the Kings' Cup came from Splashes and moves as much, if not more thr n drafting. Kopitar, Doughty, Brown and Quick are only four pieces. Big parts. However, they don't win without making those splashes.

I can't get over the shneider deal. Top 3-5 goalie in the league IMO. 6 AAV is peanuts

Yes...in one post. You are basically criticzing their current method of building through the draft while not sucking by saying that Chicago built through the draft but had to suck to do so and that LA went the other direction of never drafting a single player and trading for all of their talent. But yeah, that has nothing to do with the Flyers.

But....

If you look at the Kings roster my friend, they were most defintiely built on drafting.

I'm basically saying the Flyers need another impact player to contend, which isn't going to be easy to do because we've been consistently making the playoffs the past 20 years. Another special player that plays at the same level as Giroux regardless of his position.

And that player is literally impossible to draft if we make the playoffs and pick...oh, let's say the #22 spot in the draft?

If you "completely disagree" that the team was built through the draft, it means you think the team was built through trades and FA.

MJL was saying the core of the team was Quick, Doughty, and Kopitar. You think otherwise obviously because you "completely disagreed" with him about it.

That's interesting. I think some on here might say Voracek, in which both cases I'd disagree. Girouxcould very well be a top three forward in the league. I'm so sure Mason or Voracek would be top 10 within their perspective positions.

Giroux is 26. How old will Giroux be once this player in question is drafted and reaches his prime?

I think if Mason was on a team like the rangers or kings with the team all out committed to playing defense he would post elite numbers like Quick and Lundqvist. Just my opinion, no way to ever find that out unless Berube turns us into that team next year.

I could make a list of impact players the Hawks have drafted to help win both their Cup in 2010 and 2013 if you'd like.
