Right...but the talk was about drafting those 3 pieces. That's all.
- jmatchett383

But Bob wasn't drafted by the Flyers. So he shouldn't have come into play then.

Side note, anyone know when the AHL schedule will be released?
- Streit2ThePoint

Sorry if this was already addressed.

You can expect the AHL schedule in the second or third week in August. It used to be released earlier, but not recently. The league cites the NBA shared buildings as the reason.

The assessment on Hagg sounds frustrating. Hopefully they can get him some sort of mentor or something to help him find his hockey identity? Maybe they can get him to spend some time around Streit? I know we've got Hatcher as a development coach which is going to be great for Morin, but I kind of worry about us bringing along these more mobile guys.

Kjell Samuelsson has spent a lot of time with him. I think he'll be an NHL defenseman at some point but there is real wide gamut for how good he'll end up being. Conservatively, I think he can be projected as a future 4-5 but his talent ceiling is higher than that.

This is really off-topic, but how good is Connor McDavid?
- jmatchett383

Worth tanking a season over. Eichel, too.

Me too.

Berube is gonna earn his paycheck with this roster.

The transcript said Hexy is still working on getting another role player

I think it is likely to be a 4th line shut down C to take some share of the defensive pressure with Couts

They haven't replaced Hall and I think they should try and upgrade that spot if feasible. Brian Boyle would have worked there.

If they have already decided that Laughton is to start in Allentown, then you are likely correct.

I don't even know who is available in that market right now (i.e.--does PK, 4th liner, good at FOs, uptempo player)......

do you folks see umberger as a first line player ?

i don't

- -davies-

If the Flyers plan on playing a guy the Jackets were going to buyout on their first line they got major issues.

Seems like the Flyers are planning on spending until they reach the edge of Pronger's LTIR space.

Well I had Laughton there in my mind, but the transcript today makes me question this.

Laughton centering Raffl and Bellemere

Sounds so much better then Rosehill Hall Rinaldo

We'll see
Berube will have his work cut out for him

Bill, do you see any similarities between Timonen (Kimmo, not Jussi) and Petterson? Timonen doesn't really play with an edge, but isn't afraid to engage physically either, although I wouldn't call him a "sparkplug." But aside from the size issues, I don't know how the rest of his game is aside from my brief views of him in the WJC.
- jmatchett383

Similar can-do mentality and competitive drive but Pettersson is strictly a defensive defenseman.

I just don't see him as a 1st line player, that's why I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved as a part of a package deal. Maybe just wishful thinking!
But E Kave would look great with G and Jake.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of his antics. There is a difference between goosing a police officer and getting arrested and dissing your team to the media. I don't care if Winnipeg treats him like crap, you don't diss your team.

Chicago is going to have to deal with what Pitt is dealing with right now in a few years.

Yeah, his shots have been aimed at the media. Haven't seen him say a thing about the team. Maybe the front office, but definitely not the team.
