Another guy I really like it Perron. Any idea what it would take to get him out of Edm? Any package of Martin/Sutter , etc that would work?
- YouMeAndDupuis9

Martin has a NTC doesnt he? he isnt going to waive to go to places like Edmonton or Winnipeg.

Anyway that was just too much for Perron.

Sutter+very good prospect should get it done.

If it was Sutter/Dumoulin, I would do it without blinking.

Booth? I'll pass. Id put my money on Setoguchi or Mueller. Both real cheap.

Yes, if you agree that both Mason and David disappear for large stretches of the season, neither are good at special teams, both score one or two high-light goals that make it to TSN or once in a blue moon a game winning goal.... they both deepy suck.

Crosby to have wrist surgery. Hopefully, this explains his postseason struggles...

Is it wrong that I'm relieved that he had an injury?

Once Bennett gets hurt put Megna(I guess) on the third line?

Nope. I was thinking the same thing soon as I read it. I was like "I knew it!"

I've watched almost every game of the dudes career and never saw him play that poorly and also look that disinterested. I kept saying "he's gotta be hurt".

Even if you aren't real happy with your coach, you're still going to go balls to the wall during the playoffs for your teammates. I refused to believe he had some agenda leading to his poor play.

4 pages...4 references to Dupuis on the third line...

Based on history...if you were the Pens GM, who would you go after for a winger for Sid - IF, you determined Dupuis was not going to be able to play like he did before his knee injury last year?

All things considered...you'd probably go after a guy who is a slightly younger version of Pascal Dupuis, with a little better scoring touch, right?

Don't discount the speed and board play...the ability to generate chances.

So there...that's your target.

Who is that?

So you have 0 reservations about a 34 year old player who relies on speed coming back from an acl surgery?

If people don't have that worry they are kidding themselves, I had the exact same surgery done; went through all the physical therapy and I still notice it sometimes when I turn a certain way and mostly when I skate backwards. Im sure Duper is doing every thing he can to make sure he is as close to 100% as he can be, but the 3rd line is for sure where he belongs.

Two names that sort of popped into my head... Matt Read, and Lauri Korpikoski. Not sure Read is a realistic target, Philly wouldn't trade him to us, but maybe Korpikoski would be?

It explains some things, but I wonder what was wrong with his legs? He looked like he was carrying an extra 200 lbs around with him.....even when Dubinsky wasn't on the ice.

I know a few guys that have had similar surgeries and its difficult to get back. He's a pro athlete so he is getting services that probably aren't available to you and I but its concerning. I don't think people are wrong for wanting an elite talent with a hall of famer

Another guy I really like it Perron. Any idea what it would take to get him out of Edm? Using basically the same package as the proposed Kane deal....I traded Martin, Sutter, 1st (or Pouliot) for Perron. Not sure how realistic the trade is but I like this roster. Bottom 6 is pretty interchangeable....
- YouMeAndDupuis9

Severe overpayment, considering the Oilers traded Paajarvi and a 2nd for him.

If he would take a 1yr deal for like 2mil, Id take a flyer on Stempniak again. I think he is a guy who has the potential to be what Feds was for this team. Too lazy to look it up, but im curious what the advanced stats say about him from his time in Pitt last year.

I'm not the coach or the GM...but if I were, I would like to see what happens.

If I were the GM, I would think I have done a decent job getting some guys in house...without over spending...that have some speed and can play with talented players.

Clearly there is time to let some things play out...within the organization and with other teams.

Many variables at work here and not much room to spend without trading.

Right now...IF Dupuis comes back and can play...there's a a decent balance of players across the line-up. Even if he can't be on the first line...they can make do with other players and see what that leads to.

I think that 'deal'...if it ever happens...for that scoring winger...is best left for later.

Sure, if they had a bunch of cap room...AND the players they have now...then yeah...see what you can do.

If Despres was, hands down, ready to play an 82 game season and had played well enough for long enough to prove that...then yeah, maybe deal Martin now. But Despres' lack of playing time last year (via coaches inappropriate decision or maybe validly by not performing as needed) left some room for doubt.

I think that the 'assets' we have on D...can improve their value with games played in the 2014-15 season.

Exactly, EVERYONE (and I do mean everyone) at least suspected he was injured, people on this blog were downright certain. Why wait so long ? Our season was over long ago ? Why the delay ? Don't get it.
