My problem with the vinny situation is that vinny has value and teams think that we have to pay a price to trade him and think Philly also has to take on some of his salary. Why would Philly do that? Give me a solid reason why. Cap space can easily be rectified before season and then becomes a non issue after the furst day of the season because of pronger and ltir. Why would we pay a team like Nashville with a pick to take a 2nd line center who put up 20 goals. I'm perfectly fine with vinny staying in Philly next season. Well take his 20 goals. trade him for a minor piece a late pick or fringe NHL prospect if you can but you don't give him away and sweeten the deal by giving away a pick and eat half the salary. It's just ridiculous IMO . People forget he played injured pretty much staring after the first month of the season. Then was bumped down to fourth line for the last 2 months and playoffs. He still put up 20 goals playing with Adam hall and Zac Rinaldo.

cause he will only hget harder to trade as he gets older. he has negative value in a trade, thus needing philly to add something more. and keeping him is potentially a damaging move for philly, thus teams knowing that phillys backs against the wall

To say nsh doesn't need vinny in the least is laughable. Did anyone on the preds score 20 goals last season?
- 28Girouxsalem28

saying taking on that contract is what is laughable... and taking it on for free is even more so

If Nash didn't want the spotlight where he played, he shouldn't have signed a superstar contract and chased money when he's only scored over 70pts one time in his NHL career... that's a Bryz contract right there.

Why? Lets say Vinny does suck in 2 years. He is still making less than you paid Guastad and probably still better. Why is the contract so bad it isn't like Nashville is doing anything with their cap space. They guy makes 3 mill in his last two seasons.

I could see it, while Craig Smith and Olli Jokinen aren't bad players they could use Vinny.

people who said that vinny is not good anymore, wait a minute !

the guy put 32 points in 39 games last year with tampa and have to deal with injury... + buy out from the team that draft him.... it's not easy mentally to move your family and deal with all the new aspect that a new team can involve...

i really think that the guy got something to give to a team...the question is at what cost ??

Philly is guilty of making too many moves involving key players. Eventually that bites you in the ass. Holmgren was the worst GM since Milbury... But the Leafs than him for JVR

Has Philly tried to make too many moves....Yes. But they ALWAYS try to win and improve their team. Holmgren made more good trades than bad ones during his tenure.
The Leafs...that is another story, just look at their roster and that says it all

You mean trouble maker Neal
- Glak18

No, I mean Hornqvist. The questions was whether anyone scored 20 goals for Nashville last year, not who's on the roster that can do it this year.

It's the term that's bad. No one wants to pay for those last two years, especially the Preds who have prospects in the pipeline that are about ready to jump to the NHL.

How is phillys back against the wall? The cap is a non issue. FA is pretty much over so they aren't signing anyone. They won't buy him out cuz that does nothing to help the cap. Why would we pay a team to take a 2c 20 goal scorer. It's ludacris I say

Fisher is injured and horn quiet is gone. Neal will hit 20 but not mucho re without Malkin feeding him gems and doing the playmaking. Who is gonna give Neal the puck? Lecavier and Neal could be a decent line.

What is your point? Nashville is nowhere near the cap, CBA has teams that make money sharing revenue and as the young players get better you move Vinny down the depth chart. It takes quite some time for young guys to develop and not all if them will. Right now the only prospect that could soon be good is Forsberg and he is still probably at least 2-4 years away reaching his prime.
