Oh I don't disagree on the veterans. Q has a jaded system.

Bowmans is eliminating those options as bolig has been kicked off the island.

- SteveRain

I'm interested in seeing how Q works some of the young guys into the line up. I'm not saying Q doesn't play kids as he's played Krueger, Saad and Shaw but now with having less cap space to work with it will be imperative that he works the younger guys in and develop them.

To be fair, I think it means more to teams that haven't proven a ton yet in the playoffs. The Kings and the Hawks know what they can do and it is certainly less important to them.
- mohel

Very true I was one of those fans to be honest.

With LA being in the league since 67 they have ONE division title, which is pretty damn pathetic.

I really wish the LAK would put the crown crest on the Black Jersey and lose the LAK home plate .....why can't their brand see that ? Black hockey jerseys are cool but the LAK has too much white in the shoulders.

Versteeg has not only seemed to lost his offensive instincts, but that compiled with lack of physicality, his terrible puck protection, his crappy board work, and him being a terrible defender really makes him pretty damn near unkeepable

I hope everyone is right when it comes to Steegs Knees.

If he was really hurt I hope the summer off to heal helps him be more aggressive offensively and a little bit more engaging .

Yea man the simplicity of the 2013 ring was very sexy.

Maybe the Kings new hardware will look something like the 2005 sox rings with that sharp black onyx.

Agree. I like the crown or the coat of arms they had on their older jerseys that had the black white and purple.

That's a great point and why I am skeptical. Look at tt. How many teams passed on that kid? Why? was that draft that deep that a guy of his supposed value was available that late or was he passed by?

Again. This is Bowmans time to shine. It's obvious Hayes is leaving and that's alarming to me especially if he's NHL ready and turns out to be in the very least a dependable depth guy.

- SteveRain

I guess somebody thought Matthew Dumba was a better prospect than TT, or fit their team better.

The draft assures you of nothing, as those teams who passed multiple times on Datsyuk and Zetterberg found out. And Datsyuk was about TT's size when they drafted him. He could have quit like a cheap plug running at Arlington Park, but instead developed into a great player, in part because he was surrounded by great players and mainly because he wanted to, himself.

I trust the assessment the brass seems to have made on TT - he can be a special NHL player if developed correctly and in a timely way. Early on, TT may get alot of practice time with Kane and Toews and not so much NHL time until he is ready for it.

Needs to happen and sticking with it will also be key. Seems r have a short hook for a kid where as a veteran can make asinine mistake over and over and over again.

Yeah they did the black onyx with the logo but it looks sloppy. They needed LA in diamonds or incorporate purple and gold somehow even though it's not their colors anymore

EDIT I take that back I don't want to resemble the lakers

Is there such a thing as a functional psych ward? Anyway, The first pair of good gloves I ever had was when the Kings came into the league. Purple and gold. Up to my elbow but I didn't care. Loved em.

Wasn't that due to off ice issue? I think the kid is a stud.

Same thing with Kings Tanner Pearson. Passed up the first eligible draft then passed up until 30th pick in 2012. But that was due more to his "skating ability"

Took skating lessons to improve on mechanics or sonething during AHL as well as Toffoli now they are great.

- RobitailleFAN20

And don't forget Tyler Toffoli!

Yeah he had this great shot, but the feet were never gonna wow anybody. And he was timid and really lazy on the defenseive side, but was a great give and go guy who could take back the pass after givimg it and quicly release...look how many teams passed on him!

With Saad he had a recurruing grtoin problem and was under whelming in most of his team USA international showings too.
