I played NHL 14 last night.. I know..

I traded Lupul + Jake Vertanin (im in the enxt year and got myself 7 first rounders for this years draft) + Dwight King for Crosby.

In all fairness though. Riemer + Lupul, take franson too.

it's not gluck. it's 2 mediocre NHLers, a B prospect and a first likely to be in the 10-18 range. it's like you're trying to trade 3 quarters for a loonie.

The Leafs shouldn't be trading 1st rounders, I don't care what circumstances there are. add in a couple prospects that Winnipeg may be interested in + Reimer + Franson + any other pick.

Reimer getting regular starts isn't a mediocre goalie, IMO.
But Franson is below mediocre in my books
Lots of people say the Leafs are looking at tank mode next season, and it's a very strong draft.
I've also got high hopes for Leivo.

Kane is a promising prospect with a 30 goal season under his belt, but there's a lot of media attention around him in Winnipeg, mainly negative, and he's 2 seasons removed from that 30 goal performance.

I can see him being traded at a discounted price.

Reimer getting regular starts isn't a mediocre goalie, IMO.

But Franson is below mediocre in my books

i just think you have to look at it from Winnipeg's perspective. they are the definition of mediocre. this is a productive top-6 forward. losing him is a big hit. they absolutely need to show something this year or KC is finished. he is not going to trade a top-6 winger without at least getting a replacement. only one i can see the Leafs willing to deal is Lupul. and realistically, that's not enough.
