If Reimer truly was 'dying' to get out he could have agreed to a 1 yr figure in that range and only needed to find a team willing to give up a 2nd round pick. So either no teams would part with the pick ...or he was more inclined to remain in Toronto and get what he can thru arbitration ...or both.

There's only a trade restriction if the player signs an offer sheet like ROR did.

..and it's hard to say no to a top 6 with Kessel, JVR, Lupul, and Kane on the wings.
