Franson couldn't handle #3/#4 minutes, why on earth does he move up to #2?? The LEafs have already said that Reilly and Gardiner are moving up in terms of responsibility and they got Robidas as a UFA. IF.... IF Franson is still here he's most certainly not playing #2 with Dion. That is 100% certain.

i just have no hope for playoffs this year, so what does it matter

i don't think so, when you have the bottom two forward lines competing hard every night and playing about 20 minutes it takes a lot of pressure off of the defense and the top two lines
two years ago Franson was our best defense man on quite a few nights

- the_eye

not even close. He was playing strictly against 3rd/4th lines. He wasn't close to our best.

Well he was the worst on most every night last year. Two years ago Fraser covered a lot for him really. The guy is garbage, hope he's gone. Would rather Granberg there than Franson which I think end up happening anyway since it's the Leafs.

Phaneuf-Granberg
Gardiner-Robidas
Rielly-Polak

- iTOLDu

I'm just so tired of rookies getting thrown to the wolves with Phaneuf and expected to succeed. Aulie, Holzer, Kostka, now Granberg?

No thanks. Put #51 there and call it a day.

I have a very hard time believe that either of Franson or Reimer are here come September.

Would Nonis move them for middling picks, you think?

Something tells me he could, but wants to try to hit home runs with both. But both are gonna be salary nightmares once finished with arbitration

I see him as Phaneuf's D partner personally
That leaves Rielly with Robidas (since Nonis said 1 of them would be)
Two rightys on the bottom pair means I can't see Granberg sticking as the 7th man. I guess Stu-Per-Man might get the nod

- TheThrill

Phaneuf is better on the right side. And Franson's a natural righty, so playing both guys on their off side doesn't make a whole lot of sense. They played together on the PP, but I see Gardiner taking those minutes from Franson (who I don't think is sticking around: I bet they walk after they see the arby reward).

The only way that Phaneuf is playing the left side is with Robidas, because (if healthy), he's their most defensively-reliable defenseman.

Phaneuf Robidas
Gardiner Franson/UFA/Polak
Rielly Franson/UFA/Polak
Granberg/UFA

lol angry baked? I had a buddy with a couple of dogs, if a beer or wine got left on the floor or knocked over, one was a happy drunk, one was an angry drunk. Which was bad news because it was the big basset hound that was an angry drunk, sounds like a wookie

another guy's golden used to follow anyone around that had any herbal products on their person, self-trained sniffer dog

of course I would never, ever dose an animal with anything, but sometimes a dog or cat seems to like to sit nearby and sniff...you wonder

go leafs go

same.

Chinook steals beer/wine whenever he can, and starts sneezing as soon as he gets some.

Ren goes wherever we blow smoke, and then starts barking at us.

Chinook got high once, but he definitely did not enjoy it, so I make sure he's never around when I smoke up.

Oh horrors, we're stuck with having two good, young, cheap goalies... whatever shall we do?

Maybe we should trade so that we can have Toskala/Raycroft for more money instead?

Only if Reimer accepts the fact that he isn't the #1.
