So barring any big changes, what does the opening night roster look like? Mine is below..

JVR Bozak Kessel
Lupul Kadri Holland
Komarov Kontiola Clarkson
Ashton Santoreli Frattin
(Bodie)

Rielly Phaneuf
Gardiner Robidas
Polak Franson
(Granberg)

Bernier
Reimer

Orr enjoys the majority of the games from the press box.
Seems likely that Reimer will be traded and a cheap serviceable backup is brought in.

Nonis would have some leftover cap space too which is nice. And some Marlie depth to fill in for injuries. Does this team contend for a playoff spot?

- bluepulasky

Santorelli won't be on the 4th line: he is the most likely to take the 2nd line RW position from Clarkson, but Clarkson will get every opportunity to keep it this year; Frattin's a possibility too.

Phaneuf will likely play the left side and Robidas will play the right on the top pairing. I also see Gardiner playing the left side with Phaneuf, probably on the power play and if we're down a goal and looking for offense.

Rielly will probably play with Polak on the 2nd or 3rd pairing, likely getting 2nd PP minutes.

bye bye hossa and sharpe

That team will begin to struggle. They will have to shed some quality supporting cast.

Management already told Robidas that they want him paired with either Rielly or Gardiner.

You guys as well.

We have a missing person at work...

He has not shown up this week.

Totally out of character. All here are very worried.

A little freaked out today to be honest.

Oh yeah, he has NO friends. He is a loaner. The Police and Mother were contacted today, just about 30 minutes ago.

I get the impression that he was brought in to hopefully work well with Rielly, and be his full time partner for a bit. Speculation on my part, but I did hear Nonis say he'll play with Rielly or Gardiner like you pointed out. I think they really want to get it right with that kid.

Santorelli brought in for 1.5M to play on our second line? Yikes...thats troublesome.

Not brought in, but the most likely to unseat Clarkson if he poops the bed again this year.

I think they will contend for the McDavid cup...(Not that its a bad thing)..
- Fruitcakenipple

I'd be cool with that too. But barring some serious injuries I don't think we'll have a very good shot at him. Too talented to tank completely; maybe not good enough for a playoff sport. Stuck in perpetual limbo... Such is life as a leafs fan..

I have lost a lot of respect for Bolland. He doesn't care about winning anymore. In his mind he has won two cups, an OHL championship, and a Memorial cup so now all he wants is money.
- JVR_42_PK81

cant really blame him for that. any of us would do the same thing at this point

JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul - Kadri - Clarkson
Frattin - Holland - Santorelli
Komarov - Kontolia - Bodie

Franson - Phaneuf
Rielly - Robidas
Gardiner - Polak

Bernier
Reimer

Thats what it will probably be like. Unless Clarkson starts playing good him and Santorelli will switch. Also I would rather use Franson + to get Bieksa.

A reasonable expectation on the forwards. I think your D are off.

If I'm to read the hints that have been given correctly (with training camp performances obviously making it subject to change), then I see the D pairs being more like:

Gardiner-Phaneuf
Rielly-Robidas
Franson-Polak
Percy (Over Granberg only because he's a lefty, if Franson gets traded, then Granberg is on the team for sure)

Phaneuf is gonna continue to play Right side methinks.

I would too but would Bieksa waive his NTC for the Leafs?
