pretty sure that was the OT winner but your right even if franson did kick the puck into the corner the game was still over. leafs didn't stand a chance in ot.
- Leaffan8113

That's not true. Lupul could have ended it a few moments before the Bergeron goal. He ripped a shot passed Rask but dinged it off the crossbar.

No can't you see franson had to use his physic powers to see into the future so he knew Reimer would deflect the shot into that exact spot when he was a few feet away.

He tried to backhand it away, Gardner literally passes the puck to boston before Franny got there, he actually read the play half well and was there to get rid of it, gardner just panics...

Eh it was a mistake. Everyone makes them Expecially young players. Unfortunately for gardiner it was game 7 OT playing for the Leafs against Boston in the Leafs first playof series in 8 years.

For how terrible he was last year he was very good against the b's in the playoffs and has great stats. He seemed to elevate his game down the stretch and in the playoffs. This past year though he was bad. I wonder how much of that was related to the contract dispute after his good year...

Did they go up to Toronto to review the goals?
- MTL1

Had nothing to do with Ceasar, the team was abysmal - and by abysmal I mean atrocious - complete embarrassment.

nor do I....but when stuff like that comes out "$800K was the difference" and he said he's take a discount to stay, then he's full of poop.

As I said, I'm glad the Leafs didn;t pay it.

"Nylander better keep his ego in check" is already the title of an article in the GTA.

How come no one wants to play here?!

The cap hits look pretty good, but it's in exchange for very. very long term contracts. Carter is way too long, as is Brown, and Richards.

Richards @ 5.7 for 6 years looks ugly right now.

Already have 2 cups and good chance to win more. They know exactly what they're doing.

Its actually interesting how good Chicago, LA and Even Phily made the finals with some of the same guys, with core players signed before the restrictions with omega long term but really great cap hits. It's actually made for a bit of an unfair advantage and things would look a lot different if say, the league had made them in an certain amount of time have to adjust the terms or cap hits. Having the kind of room these teams have had has brought success. At some level they will reap even further benefits should these players continue to be good and as the cap rises more...

You guys hear Evander Kane's quote from the team 1040 in Vancouver? They asked him if he still wants to be a Winnipeg Jet, and the answer was less than optimistic if you're a fan.

The possibility of a trade involving team captain Dion Phaneuf appears unlikely, according to Rosie Dimanno of the Toronto Star. Phaneuf has a limited no-trade clause in effect with his new seven year, $49 Million contract and the offers received for the 29-year-old defenseman from other clubs did not impress Leafs GM Dave Nonis.

I don't even know why I would tell myself there was a possibility.

It's pretty amazing too, the Carter Richards combo vs the Toews Kane has seen three finals in the last 5 years and a great west final ( the real final) this year. These guys really are the heart of the league right now with the Boston boys thrown in there in the East...

Why would you want the Leafs to trade him, don't you have a few Phaneuf jerseys?

Cap recapture penalties for early retirement only apply to this group of players with legacy contracts, as I understand it.
