I what world is Kulemin a two-way player? He hasn't hit double-digits in goals in 3 straight seasons. You do know two way means offense, right?

Let's be clear, Grabo was a 3rd line centre in 2013' when the Leafs made the playoffs. Every year he was the top centre, they were terrible.

So you want Bolland, Grabovski, Kulemin on this team? Do you know how (frank)ed we'd be for years with our cap?

so essentially, you're advocating to trade someone like Kessel/Rielly/JVR/Bernier etc? because otherwise, what kind of risk do you mean?
- DoubleDown

yes absolutely

the core of this team is not one that will ever get it done

yes, that 2nd or 3rd rounder the leafs get will be the key to the stanley cup
- Dozzer

that has nothing to do with the point.
its about managing assets.. maximizing the return if you are moving them.

I would keep Franson over a 2nd.
move him when a team is more desperate or we have a new coach who doesnt kill his D value

I'm always led back to think of Pauly Homer. Now THAT guy took risks.

Got rid of two core pieces one after another. Got back a few great young pieces to become the new core. That's balls.

Traded away their best goalie for a floundering goalie from another team, because he saddled the team with a 9 year mega contract on a headcase. Risky trade, but Mason is decent....

Except that the guys they traded have 2 cups now, and the goalie has a Vezina.

Taking risks doesn't always work out

- TheThrill

holmgren was forced to make those deals by ownership however.

and neither carter or richards are core players in LA imo

They said that about Richards, Carter and gaborik and they just won being the core of a team with others as well. You need to have all the right pieces you can't just say we can't win with this core.

I delivered the Globe and Mail.

Among my customers: Rick Vaive, Dan Hill's parents and Alex Tilley (the hat guy).

- Atomic Wedgie

Did he give you one at Christmas, and then you mumbled "(frank)en hat" under your breath as you had to wear it in front of your friends.

Don't forget all of the Revenue sharing cash that the Leafs fans send to Florida every year. That way they can offer 4 tickets, plus hotdogs and soda for $99.00.
- PrinceLH

Honourable mention goes to Rogers and their tv deal
Their money is allowing teams like phx to buyout riberio and will also prevent these southern teams from moving to canada

even if a team is desperate, you're not getting more than that for Franson. what you've said here? that's a wonderful ideal. it's a highly unlikely reality.

Richards was one of the top players in Stanley Cup I.

I'm happy to argue he was still pretty important in Stanley Cup II.
