dans comments were in reference to someone saying that training camp has zero impact on roster decisions and that the roster is already known, which i agree is totally ridiculous....fwiw, no one likes cappy.

as for the kings, they absolutely play matchups

again, i dont like cappy, but to say that training camp is essentially a waste of time is crazy.

- LetsGoIsles

Which is likely one of the reasons they are successful. Maybe Cappy should take a page out of Sutter's playbook?

Listen, I'm the last one to back coach Crapuano but giving him the benefit of the doubt, we've never had a team on the ice like we will this year. That being said, it should make his leashe even shorter. If he isn't getting the job done he will be lucky to see December. If he wants to prove himself he finally has a team to do it

Hearing Martin recently talk about how now they know they won't be handed anything after being an 8th seed and first round exit apparently went to their heads leads me to believe Tavares' uncompromising drive to get better and be a champion might not be the prevailing attitude throughout the organization...
- UIF

I don't think that's the prevailing attitude. Martin was too comfy playing hockey last year and if he doesn't come into camp ready to work someone will take his job

how the players play on the ice and the mistakes they make can't all be dumped on the coach, however when the coach sits productive kids (Nelson) and overplays guys who handle the puck like a live grenade (amac, bailey) without sitting them down or reducing their minutes (even for one game) then it's on the coach. When we watch a passive loose zone defense that doesn't collapse properly in front of the net, allows point shots with no pressure and allows opposing teams free reign with the puck along the boards, that's on the coach.

Our goaltending was horrible, our system was horrible, our defense had maybe 2 NHL caliber players on it for most of the year. Cappy only takes blame for #2, but the job of the coach is to give your team the best chance to win by adapting a system that caters to what you have available. He didn't do that until JT went down. That's a serious issue.

He's going to get another chance regardless of what most of us think, if the team plays well through november he may keep his job. If they flounder again, I think he'll be gone quickly.

You don't have to put Neilsen in the package, keep in mind what B. Ryan got back in return plus he's been a 30g scorer longer than Kane and isn't a head case. The value for Kane will be big but not that big...
- Ur Not Me

Bobby Ryan wasn't 22 and under contract for 4 more years. If you want Kane you can't get him him without moving one if the big prospects. It simply won't happen

Guys you want Bogosian and Kane you aren't getting them with trade offers that the computer on Xbox would laugh at

B. Ryan was 25 w/2yrs left on contract and a perennial 30g scorer...???
Plus I did mention Lee being a fit w/Grabs or Bailey (not both)....
Also I think the poster said Frans not Brock???

Edit: As much as I like Bogosian, he hasn't been lights out either...

What offer brings in Kane and Bogosian?

Grabs, Neilsen, Bailey, 2nd round pick and a prospect?

It's a top forward with a decent contract and a top dman.

It will take a good package to get them.

That gets you laughed off the phone. You can't get those two without including Strome

I still think Nelson is going to turn out to be the better player, but Strome looks like he should be a 60 point guy in two years

I would take that. I just knew when we drafted him people felt he would do a lot better than that

They are different players completely. Nelson reminds me of a Young Keith Primeau

I kind of like Lee better than Nelson. He just has the nose for the net and gets in the dirty areas
