A lot of great coaches in this league sucked as players or never even made the league and plenty of great players sucked as coaches

I get what you're saying but Viz is a legit top4 Dman, Hickey is a 3rd pairing. Doesn't bring as much offense as I'd like, but great at clearing.

I met Pulock last year at draft and the kid is really built solid, I could see why he has a hard shot....

Finally, Dmen with complementary sizes to Lubo and Hickey. Hope Czuczman and Reinhart make the Isles out of camp. I like the depth on D and some of F positions are also great. Goalies are horrendous.

As we are all discussing who to trade to bring in a top 4 Dman, here are some of the recent comparables. I used my best judgment in selecting a top 4 dman ...

- Georges for 2nd round pick (some might not consider Georges a top 4 however he was third in minutes per game behind Markov and PK during regular season and POs this year. He was second in minutes during the POs the other time Montreal made it to conference finals)
- Bouwmeester for 1st, 4th, Berra, Cundari (I believe this was a trade DL deal and it was Jay's last contract year when he was traded)
- Luke Schenn for JVR (probably the most comparible trade)
- Jack Johnson (+1st) for Jeff Carter

The point is that top 4 dman trades dont happen and if they do you better be ready to give up a ton... so I wouldnt get too excited about any trades this off-season. The only hope is that some team is looking to shed salary. So far Boston, Chicago and Washington seem like the best options. Nashville and Toronto might look as great trade partners given their depth at C especially with Nashville losing Fisher for most of the season.

Finally, Dmen with complementary sizes to Lubo and Hickey. Hope Czuczman and Reinhart make the Isles out of camp. I like the depth on D and some of F positions are also great. Goalies are horrendous.

What sad is cappy knows exactly who he going to use on defense. Camp doesn't determine anything. If pokka was bast dman in camp he still not playing this year.
