, I sure liked MR when he was an Oiler...not spectacular but the ultimate utility forward.
- Jeropotato

He was decent as an Islander, only a -100 with 1 goal in 2 seasons

Hey, that's fine, I'm just trying to establish his trade value.....right now there doesn't seem to be any thing close to consensus on what he worth in trade among islanders fans. I am not trying to insult anyone here, just asking the questions.
- Jeropotato

I don't think anybody really knows what Bailey's trade value is. He has underachieved, but despite what all Isles fans will say he is still a full-time NHL'er that very adequately fills a 3rd line role. He's not tough but he's defensively competent and can help drive the play. When he is on (which comes in largely-spaced spurts) he has so much skill and can really wow you. His problem is consistency and compete level. I'm still convinced that he may exceed what he's done to-date, if he's given a fresh start in a new city.

His value is dependent on how he's perceived by other GM's....

Exactly if another GM thinks he can "fix him" Garth will get what he needs

Keep hearing Calgary wants him but I don't see a match of players, so could picks be involved??? If a possible trade was made there???

Never said it was a bad idea, in fact I could careless. Just pointing out how bad he was as an islander.

It's a fair offer but I think we are looking more towards immediate help for the defense. I don't know if EDM could make that work. Petry for Bailey swap?

Im going to say that Bailey will have more points than Grabovksi, Kumelin and Conacher this season.

If he stays on the Islanders..... NO I don't think so
If traded to another team, quite possible....

i think his best value will be if he is packaged with another player; garth can sell him being a selling low guy with a "good" contract who is young and could use a change of scenery. i think the low risk-high reward throw-in aspect can be seen as an asset but he himself wont bring back much on his own.

What the obsession with Petry? You want give up on bailey at age 24 but love a 27 year old Dman that was a -22 last year?
Hickey and Strait are far better than him. you want Petry to play over reinhart? makes no sense.

Another here wonder why we didn't pay Volenchkov 1MM to come play on isles for one year? don't we need hard hitting stay home dman.

I think that's the kind of player we would prefer on the cheap, but it sounds like Mac T is gonna wait it out until a contender tight against the cap gets desperate and wants to dump a salary, anyway. Still, if Snow wants to move him, I'm sure Mac T will listen.

don't disagree with that. but him and Grabvoski will have similar numbers. and did I mention Bailey in only 24 and a cheaper contract?

Petry is pretty good. He makes mistakes but that's what happens in Edmonton when youre put in a position over your head, behind an ass load of forwards that cant spell back check. That -22 is not a very indicitive stat.

He plays heavy minutes on a bad team against every opponents top competition, starting mostly outside of the offensive zone. Aside from +/- being a poor stat, his numbers aren't going to be impressive. He still manages to play a solid game despite the aforementioned factors.

If im going to make a trade for Dman you need to trade guys that will be seen as valuable.

I suggest Trading moulson 2 years ago when he scored 30. Imagine the dman we could have pulled in then.

So if we have too many forwards, Best thing Garth can do is trade Grabner or Nielsen (and im huge Nielsen fan). Reason why? Fran not going to every be better than his last season. however Strome and Nelson have tons of upside.

I really hope that Grabvoski and Kulemin don't mean that Cizikas is gone. I love Casey. I still think he could be Ryan Callahan Type of given the chance.
