I dont know how franson gets a 75% raise with the season he had.
You would have to think Nonis has no negotiating skills if Holland gets 950. Sheahan just signed for that, and he put up 24 points in 42 games, while holland had 11 in 43.
Peters and Montoya both got 1 mil as UFA, I'd be pretty pissed if Nonis wastes 2.5 on a backup tendy. It would be nice to have some cap space this year if we actually contend for a spot at the deadline. If we coulda had Vanek for a 2nd and a guy like Finn, we might not have collapsed

No illusions. Leafs aren't winning the cup this year but I really like the last 3 signings.
Bodie was the one guy from the bottom six I hoped they would bring back and this Kontiola guy paid out $620k to come and play here..he is making $480k. $70k less than the league minimum. He could have just stayed where he was and made way more. How many players would do that?
Seems motivated to prove himself and the game seems to be about a lot more then just $$ for him. Plus I really like what that " I don't know " interview says about him. .... He was pi$$ed off they were losing so much he gives an interview like that. Just the kind of intensity this team needs. No shifts off. |

Trade cap space with a team like Boston. Take Kelly at $3m plus someone like Reilly Smith in exchange for some combo of low cost guys like Frattin, Gardiner, holland. Bruins are stuck right now.
