If I were the Leafs, I'd start force-feeding the guy delicious chicken. It's high in protein, so it'll be great for building muscle mass.

Would it be worth it to do a Reimer - Markstrom swap? Reimer is definitely the better goalie but its bad to have him on the team when he mentally has one foot out the door.

Franson was always a problem for the Leafs - dude wants too much money. Everyone in the league knew he was going to arbitration.

yes but meanwhile, they now have a #1 goalie signed for 3 years instead of 8, and a really good prospect in Bo Horvat. all in all, things could've turned out much, much worse. would they be better off with Schneider instead of Miller/Horvat? hard to say. but they got themselves out of that jam rather nicely.
