So many good players in the top 10 and the Flyers likely won't get a sniff...

One or two injuries to the wrong people and this team would be done like dinner.

You can say that to just about every team in the league.

Hopefully old man Rutherford is listening. .. it seems tho he may b holding out to play for burkie and his college buddies in Calgary . He would get plenty of pt. And play with johnny hockey. That would help push their rebuild like 3 yrs ahead.... or maybe he just wants to play with sid n geno

Kings would be fine without Doughty, Quick and Kopitar.

All kidding aside, he does make a point. If the Flyers lost G, Mason OR Coburn for 2 months, they'd have a hard time making the playoffs.

I'd say there are maybe 10 teams that could make the playoffs despite losing their best player for a few months.

I think the Kings and Hawks would be okay if they lost their top 2 players.
Beyond that , im hard pressed to think of a team that wouldn't struggle if they lost their number 1 center and goalie.

I don't know who was talking about LOtR a while ago, but it's definitely on TNT right now. Return of the King. Tuned in about 3/4ths in...so I still haven't seen any of them from the beginning

I actually tried reading the books.

Yikes. That was a mistake

Wow. I hate fantasy but the Lord of the Rings series is one of my favorite things to read.

My god I hated it. I gave it a real try too. I wanted it to work out.

It was like 2 summers ago. I was 120 pages in, and the only thing that had happened was Frodo and Sam walked.

The most riveting part of the story was when one of those black knight things came by on a horse and they hid behind a tree. That was the only "action" in 100+ pages

Yeah it isn't action heavy. A lot of time is spent on description and history. I can see it being a drudge for a lot of people. The Hobbit is 10x worse though.

Try Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Its Horror meets Sci-fi/Fantasy meets Western. Really fantastic and full of action.

Oh I love Stephen King. I'll read his shorts and novels all the time.

The Shining is an amazing book.

Also, big fan of Dan Brown. I love the way he writes.

I'm a bit of a King fanatic myself. His short stories are really amazing for the most part. His novellas are even better. The Dark Tower is the best thing he's done by far.
