Exactly, Andrew MacDonald played top minutes for the isles but no one would pay him top pairing money... Oh, wait. - Isles_since_6
Exactly! A guy is getting a lot of money so he must be a top line player! David Bolland has got to be one of the best centres in the league! I mean, the guy is making as much money as John Tavares next season so he must be good! |

Im sure 29 other Gm's would rather have RoR over JvR in a heartbeat. Tsn did a Mock draft of the 2009 draft as of today and they RoR going 4th overall. He is high thought of through the league right now. - welch33
Absolutely. Nobody would want JVR. ROR, his dad, and his Lady Bing trophy FTW.

He is making less than Orpik and is twice the Dman he is. |

im not quite sure that is accurate..jvr is big makes great plays and scores 30 and is no doubt a top line player,ROR is a very good smallish playmaker that scored 28 goals had a career year and is maybe a first line but now prob a 2nd line player, kinda reminds me of bozak except more talented..there both pretty good but I give JVR the nod here |

You've had him a month, I've watched his entire NHL career. You'll see, give it til November. He's a soft defender who doesn't see the ice well at all. I know someone else would have given him that money as a UFA but if he's still with the flyers after half that contract length I'll be shocked. |

I don't want that kind of defenseman. We have plenty of those on the team. |

I think the trade offer was something line 3rd rd pick for Bailey + 2nd rd pick.
The guy has never had a 40 pt season in the NHL, and is on a terrible contract. |

all 29 other Gm's would rather have a 6-6.5 million ROR over a 4.25 million JVR?
I somehow doubt this, in my opinion it's a tossup, and I certainly wouldnt include
Kadri or Gardiner in the package to get him |

The leafs can spend 20 million more than the Sens, so we can afford a couple bad contracts...can the sens? - GardinerExpress
We have had better teams over the last decade as a result... |

Andrew Macdonald is a piece of junk. I'm not saying that because of sour grapes I'm saying it bcs it's true. Great first season and went down hill from there. Capuano was a moron(still is btw)for giving him the assignments and minutes he did. I've watched him as a Flyer and have no idea what you guys see in him? He was just as bad on a better team. Our defense improved after that trade. If you guys love him great. I'm happy he's not here anymore. |

Dont get me wrong. I love the Kesler trade for the Ducks. And its what they needed. I also hate it because the Ducks got better. And yeah, maybe his best season is yet to come.
On that note. I can just see how Marleau would have more value than Kesler and Spezza. - poisondhearts37
it might help if he went to a team that had the same kind of supporting cast that might help him look better...as opposed to a team that paid a lot but he was the only real star on the team...he may look like a bust then 1 more thing to add he will be 35 next fall Kesler will be turning 30 |
