I'm asking you! Which Islanders Center than can play in the top 9 on an NHL team is most expendable and what would Snow want for him? - Jeropotato
The only possible player would be Frans Neilsen but I think a hockey trade would be difficult to make bc 1 team wouldn't part w/an asset & the other team wouldn't want whats prob offered. If I had to say, a particular type of top 4 Dman |

No. What would you want for either Lee or Nelson? - Iggysbff
Nelson - not moving and has become untouchable
Lee - depends on the offer.... listening |

Huh? You think Marleau will get far and away more than Spezza and Kessler? Why am I not surprised?
"Those 2 guys got market return but my guy is worth waaaaay more because he plays on my team" - Jeropotato
Well. He should. He always performs. Has no injury history. Kesler may never touch his best season again. Spezza is one injury away from retirement. |

Sorry but either your over-valuing what Coburn is or under-valuing Perron? Some Flyer fans want to ship out Coburn bc of his play but don't want to make a hockey trade for Perron ( which on a lousy Oiler team, produced large ). Now grant it, if you value more the D than O, then I can understand your point, but what type of return do u think you can get for Coburn? ( And I'm not doubting his value, just Perron would be a good get ). - Ur Not Me
This!
I'd trade Coburn for Perron in a heartbeat. The Flyers need to ship out one of their defensemen. There's no need to have 6 defensemen making over 3.5 million each. |

My point is that everyone expects some huge return for their Star player....and 90% of the time the trade on the surface is fairly underwhelming. |

My bad, he's listed as a centre on Hockeydb (and since I don't watch many Isle games I just went with that), but as a winger that's even worse. Calgary has more left wingers than any team should have.. More left handed shooters than any team should ever haveā¦ He's just not the type of player Calgary needs. - Talking_hockey1
He's a playmaker but just hasn't been consistent enough but has improved his defense. Bailey can play either W/C |

* Hearing the Leafs have a strong interest in working out a deal/offer sheeting Ryan O'Reilly.
Do the Leafs even have enough cap room to offer ROR a contract? Like they still have to ice a full team come opening day....
From a source...
"The Avalanche are very aggressively trying to lock up O'Reilly of course and would 99% match any offer sheet that Toronto puts their way, however there are some defensive options the Leafs could offer up in a trade.."
Honestly I doubt the Avs will lose both Statsny and ROR in the same offseason.
* Also hearing the Flames have made a trade offer to the Islanders for Josh Bailey...they aren't the only team interested..
If this trade isn't a multi-player trade involving Giordano going the other I don't see it happening.
* The Flyers are still talking to the Preds about a possible Lecavalier deal and according to one all places source have had discussions in the last 2 days with the Oilers about Brayden Cobourn...
Only way the Flyers rid themselves of Lecavalier is if they take more then a million in return off his salary for the rest of his contract.
* The Sharks are once again talking to Carolina...Cam Ward for Patrick Marleau is still possible...
Stalock and Niemi are miles better then Ward. They also don't have a $6.3 million cap hit. Plus Ward is usually injured half the year+. He's nothing more then DiPietro 2.0. Ward has not had a good season since he won the cup; and that was a very long time ago. - Jammerz04
Are they giving us Reinhart and Dal Colle too? Why the hell would it need to involve our best player to get a top 9 forward? |

I get your point and agree, but I know ppl expect or think that certain players on their team are gonna get a huge return, I don't, I try to be realistic on things... |

Why would the avs trade a player they need badly now that statsny is gone. Also don't see cam ward being an answer in Sj at all. |

I think the perfect trade scenario would be Frans for Hjalmarsson but I understand CHI wouldn't bc of the uncertainty of rest of D.
Also if the Isles didn't sign Grabo & have Nelson & Strome as C, Isles wouldn't trade Frans, but I also think that Frans is not available now and think Snow will try to trade Bailey and/or Grabner 1st. |

You're over valuing Coburn. They almost traded him for 2 - 2nd round picks last year. |

Dont get me wrong. I love the Kesler trade for the Ducks. And its what they needed. I also hate it because the Ducks got better. And yeah, maybe his best season is yet to come.
On that note. I can just see how Marleau would have more value than Kesler and Spezza. |

Of the three people that commented on the trade proposal, you're the only one that thinks it's far fetched. I guess the three of us are idiots and you're the master? Wake up, Perron for Coburn would be a fair trade. I guess you think Coburn should fetch Taylor Hall? You're CLEARLY overvaluing Coburn. |
