I don't know, I'd take JvR. Considering the interest in RoR, he might come at a slightly cheaper price. - willschulme
Most people with any real hockey since would pick JVR over ROR they are both very good but one has a bit more going for him |

It depends what sort of player you want, they play really different style.
ROR isn't physical (only 22 hits last season) but he is very smart and effortless in winning puck battles with his little stick life moves and transitioning the puck (83 takeaways, 36 give aways). Has selke candidate written all over him (was 5th in voting this season)
JVR is a pure power forward, 118 hits, but he has game breaking ability over ROR, just he lacks that defensive 2way instincts (41 give aways, 36 take aways).
Its who do you want, the Big Power forward Winger, or the slick 2way center. |

I think you get a better player with ROR than JVR to be honest. If JVR's nationality was Canadian, he definitely wouldn't have made it on the Olympic roster. - biglove89
I doubt that. |

You can't compare the players head to head - they play different roles and any trade would have to look at if that particular player addresses a particular area of concern for the team.
The Leafs desperately need players like ROR who have an offensive upside and are extremely capable in the defensive zone. If secondary scoring wasn't as much of a concern (Lupul's health most importantly), I'd consider that move.
The Leafs possession numbers were dreadful. Upgrades on the defensive end will certainly help address it, but so will icing skillful two way players like ROR. |

We need both..but I wouldn't give up JVR..maybe a deal like Lupul and Phaneuf for ROR would make a lot more sense. .but trading away JVR would set us back way to much..He is a 24 yr old power forward who will score 30 -40 goals and you build around those guys not take them away at almost any cost |

Of course you would, two bit players for a center that's better than any you have plus a 1st? It's so laughably lopsided any leaf fan who wouldn't make the deal should have his head examined. That's why it's a silly proposal |

I think my Tanguay wearing a Drury jersey was a reasonable proposal, I think they will take it |

as an isles fan it is awesome to see interest in Bailey and hopefully some team out there will over value him. Sure, with a change of scenery he could possibly do better as he does have sick hands when he does score it's just not consistent enough to earn the money he is making.
package grabner, bailey, donovan for Yandle. make it so Garth |

Yes..He would be the best Centre we have but in no way would he be the best player we have..A 24 yr old skilled defenceman who scored 11 goals is far from a two bit player. .Franson has a great shot also and hits pretty hard..Colorado has a big scoring up from but on D .they can use some skill and that would be addressed. Either Phaneuf or franson with Gardner and a pick would be a great trade for both |
