Depends on how many backups the leafs see out of 82 games
- MTL1

we'll see price 6 times next year so thats a guaranteed 12 for the Leafs

they've gone the build from within route, which i don't mind either

i just like the fact that i can tell what direction they are going

- Flyfreaky

Well that's what I thought, but I have been told otherwise quite a lot so now I'm not sure. Losing two defensive juggernauts in Gleason and Gunnar, a PK specialist who was an integral part of the 29 BEST PK in the NHL, a 3rd line centre who just got paid 5.5 mil a year who only played 20 odd times for us and losing a goal scoring machine in Kulemin means that we have taken a step backwards.
- walshyleafsfan

Polak is better, Gleason was slow as (frank) Kulemin would not hit Komorov will plow people over. Bolland is not what we needed at that price. So all good moves i think.

If Leo is busy hitting people it means 1 thing from these advanced stats
The leafs don't have the puck
That cant be a good thing according to these new advanced stats

Im curious...why does the Habs payroll get messed up because of the offer sheet if they match, but if a team offer sheeted him and got him...no mention is made of their cap now being messed up. Furthermore, how is the draft pick compensation not entered into this analysis?

Signing a player to a 10 million dollar contract, and paying 4...FOUR.. first round picks is a no lose no situation? Really?

Simmons simmons simmons, you're an idiot, but you don't know it....so it's okay.

Look at his numbers from the year he was here, I'm curious how they looked from the nerds perspective. If they were good, they were good while hitting everyone.

Obviously it's better to have possion of the puck, but every player in the league has to play without it at times. Better a guy throwing some hits in these instances instead of just floating around.

You do realize what a bold move means. Means its a chance that you make a trade and a roll of the dice that it works thats bold. So if you want nonis to trade kadri and picks for Thornton to make a bold move and see how the future would look. He has done a fine job so far this year. No mass over-payments or giving away the future for past players.

edit: would also say Bernier was a bold move no one in toronto wanted him most fans said Reimer was better and more experienced.

Not the opposite that is a Bold signing. Bold doesn't mean good or bad that was a bold move that turned bad.

Bold to me is taking a risk, giving up something to get something.

haven't seen that happen. I didn't say anything about youth for veterans.

Inaction and caretaking is the opposite of bold to me.

I was making an example of what a bold move is and that is what bold moves tend to be youth trading out
